Hi VNAMVET -

Is this price for a complete system?

Carbon Fiber or standard black plastic?

It sounds like the standard TRAP Tunnel-ram Air Pak setup - and that is the going price listed on the Halltech web site -
http://www.corvettec5.com/store/?pag...a54889627204d8

I found it for $499.97 at MSI...

I would add that Jim and his wife were great folks to deal with...

best regards -

mqqn

Yes, a complete system. Not CF, The same color as the Z06 "valve" covers.

I have purchased from them before and YES, great people to deal with.

$499 is the going price, but I am in no hurry. The Vararam has come down quite a bit less and probably a bit more realistic for HP gains. I, feel that the major difference be tween the two is ease of installation. $350 seems a bit more realistic for ANY intake and filter................

Jim posted over on Z06vette.com a while back about their introductory special (450), you may log in over there and see if you can find the thread (he gave the same special on this board a while back). I am waiting for a holiday special myself too! Not planning on buying this product until it drops below 400.

I also want a new intake but over $400 is to much.

I heard that the TRAP and the vararam(sp) were affected by the Z06 screens. It would seem that the screens would allow less air in. What do you think?

:iagree: I either need to get so rich I don't care, or the price needs to come down. I really like what I've heard about this intake though.

I think the AutoCad CD is the most expensive piece of plastic on the planet. You are paying for the performance and not the plastic. If you want performance and looks, the Carbon Fiber is the ticket:

Has anyone done a comparison on the Vararam vs The Trap performance wise? Or for that matter, against any others like Donaldson etc etc ??? Does this thing really deliver that much more performance? Anybody know about this? It sure would help me understand what Jim said, "Your not paying for plastic, your buying performance" if that is the case, I need to see how other's fair up against " The Trap " I'm from Missouri, the "Show Me State " Looking for info guys..thanks :smash:

I concur. The TRAP makes great power. Now, Jim, do you have those bridges in Electron Blue?

I have the new TRAP intake on my 03 Z06. I love it, made a impressive SOTP difference. This set up is well worth the cost. :flag

I've got a slightly used T1 Carbon fiber unit for sale with the Z1R air filter.
E-mail me at rkelly40@cogeco.ca if interested.

We can do it in Yellow, but time does not permit doing a sample right now.
