Did you know Pilot Sports are available in Z06 sizes
I didn't. I went to the Tire Rack's website and noticed they now list Pilot Sports in Z06 sizes. I previously thought we were limited to the GY SC's or a bigger sized front tire.

Any reason you guys think they suck? I have had them for two years on my two C5's and love them. Also, I know a guy who owns one of the better known Corvette tuner shops in the country - and drives everything. He told me they are without a doubt the best.

the only way to know for sure which is best is some side by side testing on the same day on the same car.
I haven't seen anyone who has done that.
I have seen how various tires perform at autocrosses over the years though, and the stock Z06 tires are absolutely amazing.
Judging by the tread pattern of the pilot sport, I can't see how it could perform better than the Goodyear Supercar.
I don't trust peoples perceptions on performance at all. Too many times they have been proven wrong.
If anyone in Texas has a z06 with pilot sports, Id be happy to do some testing at a texas region autocross to see how they compare to my Goodyear supercars.

Re: Did you know Pilot Sports are available in Z06 sizes (STAY IN IT)
My first set of replacement tires were SCs because the Pilot Sports were so pricey and Goodyear also had a $60 rebate program going last July. Houston weather stays fairly dry so I felt the marginal wet traction and poor hydroplane resistance had so far not been a big issue for me with the OEM set of SCs. I do agree that there are other places in the country were the SCs are a much bigger issue in the wet. You only need to repair your car once to wish you had better wet handling capabilities.

 :steering: Everyone has their favorite tires which are always the best!! My preference is the BF Goodrich G Force for dry pavement action. They stick like glue! :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod: :yesnod:

I sure like my F1 Supercar tires, in fact I'm on my third (3rd) set on my 03 Z06. That includes 19 track days and 20K miles. I had Pilot Sports on my 2000 Convertible and changed to Goodyear GS-D3 and liked them better than the PS on that car. :steering:
