I'm glad they fit, and Ido think they look great. I'm a little bit surprised that if you track your car, you don't appear (in the photo) to have lowered it yet. If you haven't already, I would lower it per your video instructions.

Re: ZR1 wheels on z06 (63Corvette)
Thanks 63, it be lowered, doesn't look it cuz the 315/35/17 tire is shorter than the stock tire in the rear! Lowered to the stock bushing.

Looks great - those are the GrandSport wheels, though, right? ZR-1 offset would cause the wheel to stick WAY out past the fenders. :seeya

one of the boys down the road drives an 88 m3 and he told me them wheels was the lightest he'd ever felt, lot's lighter than hsi 15 in m3 wheels. Them kuhmo tires aint light tho.

Re: ZR1 wheels on z06 (Timz06)
I've heard that the stock Z06 rims were the lightest ever mounted on a Vette.
Guess that could be wrong....
Your Z does look phat with those rims tho....

They feel lighter, I'll be glad to weigh them , they do have tires on them now. When I pull them next week I will do a comparison. I have 2 sets of stock rims one with ecsta mx from kuhmo, the other with goodyear f1 gs cs race tires.

Re: ZR1 wheels on z06 (02MillenniumVette)
I just drove to work on this setup, it feels great. The 315's on the rear have a ton of stick. I couldn't even get the wheels to spin without popping the clutch. No spin from 1-2 shift. Went around a corner that I hit about 60 on street tires at 70 no problem. These feel better than my goodyear race tires did so far, definitely more stick in the rear. Of course I've got quite a bit more tire on the car now.

Nice!
Yea now you can forget about brake dust!
Guess those aren't OEM with that offset. Let me know what you think about the lower gear ratio you now have becuse of less diameter. I avoided this setup because I was out of 4th gear 142 mph at three tracks and 3rd gear at one track and doesn't make sense to shift to 5th and loose a bunch of rpm for a short section of track. :chevy

Well these are aftermarket wheels, so maybe the z06 wheels are the lightest stock wheels ever mounted?
I bought the wheels from Afs wheels. You can buy the wheels from their website for $1000 or you can get them on ebay. They always have tons on ebay, I got mine for about $750 shipped. You can probably even do better.
They are 17x9.5 front and 17x11 rear, with the Grand sport offset. Tires are kuhmo victorracer 275/40/17 front and 315/35/17 rear. Prices are $150 front and 170$ rear from the tire rack.
I ran an extra set of stock wheels with goodyear race tires, but it was expensive. Wanted to go with the kuhmo's, so I went with the 17 inch wheels. Stock set of wheels will be for sale soon.

Re: ZR1 wheels on z06 (Timz06)
Z06 on track, it should be interesting. Front diameter is 25.3 compared to 25.4 stock so is the same, rear is 25.3 compared to 26.1 which gives about a 3 % gearing ad(disad)vantage depending on how you look at it. I am not sure but I seem to remeber getting near the redline in 4th at road atlanta at around 148 or so? That would put the new top of 4th at about 143? So I would have to shift. The shorter tire definitely gives it that 4x4 look.

Re: ZR1 wheels on z06 (Timz06)
Those look to be the GS 56 mm offset A-molds. I had the same wheels in Silver on my 93. They were heavy and I cracked one of them. I've heard build processes have changed though.
I think the wheel cracked on 85 when they were paving it and I hit a new section of pavement at the usual I85 80 mph....gotta love Atlanta at times  Took the car over to a friend's shop for a slow leak and found the cracked wheel.
