Default Z06 Dominates Competition In New Road & Track Magazine

The new Road & Track has the Z06 up against the BMW M3, Porsche 911 Targa, and Nissan 350 Z (track model). The Z06 had the best acceleration, lateral acceleration, and braking distances of the group by a sizeable margin. It was also some 4 seconds per lap quicker than the others! :smash: At the end of the article they rate the cars performance per dollar and the Z06 finished first with a perfect 10 score.

That 72hp min advantage helps. The Z06 is a great car. It just loses a little when modified on a track against other modded cars.

I'll have to look for that one in the store. Was it the march edition? Was it a 2003? I haven't seen any 2003 articles out there yet.

thanks!
Yes, was it March and the 2003 Z06?

Default Whooppee!

Awesome! Can't wait to get my issue!

It should come as no surprise though that the Z06 summarily thrashes the other cars in this comparo. Its rightful competitors are the 911 Turbo and the 360 Modena.

Not really! "Comparable" cars have to be within a reasonable price range. The 911T and F360 are priced 2.5 to three times higher than the Z06.

Imagine what GM could do if they decided to build a "Super Corvette" that would carry a list price in the range of $150K.
