What did GM do to get to 405 HP
I know the 20HP and 20/lbs of torque. But, What I am looking for is what did they do differently from 2001 to 2002 to add the 20HP?
Also, what are the differences in the '01 vs. '02?
Also, what are the differences in the '01 vs. '02?

Cam, intake, eliminate pre cats, lighter liquid filled valves (for the more aggressive cam).

The reason I ask is that I am looking at an '01 ZO6 and was wondering what it would take to get the 405HP?

-02/03 Exaust center section (with newer cats/no pup cats)
-02/03 Intake box lid
-02/03 MAF Mass Air Flow Sensor
-02/03 Cam
-02/03 Valves (intake & exaust)
-02/03 Valve springs
Keep in mind these are just the things they changed on the motor to get the 20hp. They made a few other minor changes between 01 and 02. Such as revalved rear shock, changed the sway bar end links, and added HUD.
If I were you, I would just get an 02 or an 03.

Buy the 2001, put an aftermarket cam (like MTI ) headers, intake and pulley on it and get 400 RWHP!! Problem solved! My friend has a 2001. When we were both pretty much stock, I was killing him. When we both got pretty much the same cam and bolt ons it was even, so then i had to go get heads!!!!
