Default Underdrive Pulley

I recently purchased an '03 Z06 that has an under drive pulley installed.

Are their advantages/disadvantages ?????

I'm not versed on an under drive pulley.

Any help is appreciated.

Claims are it will free up 2-5hp, sometimes at the expense of sufficient charging, especially if you have high elec draws. Good ones are usually the last thing folks use to get that last little bit of hp. If you already have it and it's working, it's a bonus. The cost usually as a hp getter most times doesn't seem to justify its cost. That's the opinion you will hear from some.

I have one and notice no real improvement or hindrance to the performance or driveability of the car. I put it on because my stock balancer had excessive wobble and needed to be replaced anyway so I decided to "upgrade" to ensure that problem would not happen again. The pulley wobble is a well documented weak point and replacing it is a good investment imho.

I put one on when I put my cam in. It went on with a whole bunch of other mods and the only time it was dynoed was after the install and tune, so I can't speak to the true benefit of it. The stock balancer had to come off for the install so I figured I would put one on while I was there. I have no charging or cooling issues at all. Made 425 rwhp with cam, longtubes, Vararam and underdrive pulley.
