2004 Z06 vs 2009 Z51 package
I'm looking for some input on value, performance, issues, and overall thoughts on a 2009 with Z51 package vs a 2004 Z06.
The Z06 has 20k miles vs 45k for the 2009. They are about the same price.

z06 is a bit over priced if they are the same
the z06 is more nimble, better suspension, would be the better car to autocross
the ls3 will be more powerful stock, the c6 is a bit more modernized, it's also a 5yr new car which means newer seals, newer rubber, newer everything

What do you plan on doing with it? For a weekend cruiser/fun car I would get the c6 ls3 all day long if they are similarly priced. If you want a track car go with the c5z.

It will be a weekend and cruising car. I'm also looking for something that I may hang on to for a long time. I wouldn't mind an increase in value over time also.

I generally don't think the z16 is worth much more unless it has really low miles and is pristine. If the price is even remotely close, I pick the 09 z51 any day of the week, and i drive an 02 z06, but it was about a $10k difference when I bought mine.

I don't understand why the Z16s are so much higher when they made more Z16s than regular Z06s in 2004.
Anyway like others were saying if the LS3 is the same price as the Z06 then that Z06 must be way too high. The LS3 is a great car.

Doesn't matter. Unless you're looking for a collectors item...which IMO with the recent generation Z06's will NOT be a collectors item for very many years, get the LS3. It's a superior car.

What claim do you take issue with, exactly? What facts do you have to dispute said claims? The C6 Z51 has a very similar suspension, but it weighs more and has a slightly longer wheelbase; that would lead to the C5 Z06 being slightly more nimble, as he said.

Z06 imo, Down the road the Z06 will hold value more then the C6 coupe. Right now price is based on it being a newer car imo not superior which I dont think it is anyways... C6 coupes are a dime a dozen on the road... Right now from what I have seen, A 09 Coupe with that mileage is around 27,500 on average. Which is what a Z06 with that mileage would fetch in very clean condition... Not out of reason, Anyone who says differently please show me a Z16 with that mileage priced any lower then that... At most there can be a + or - difference no more then 2 grand between the 2 in price. It can go either way depending on what each seller is willing to take. I was offered 30 Grand for my C5Z over the winter and thought about selling it but turned it down last min because I wanted to enjoy it more. My Z06 wouldnt compare with the average built H/C/i Z06 or Supercharged, I couldnt touch or build another for that price and I understand that. To each his own though, Right?

why get a base c-6 coupe, as said a dime a dozen, the c5z is a very unique, I would never have a base motor car.
