Default 2002 C5 Z06 price check

Its time to sell our 2002 Z06 and need some help determining a price. Looking at cars.com I see prices all over the map.

Torch Red
Chrome factory wheels
HUD
CD
25k miles

The car has not been modified and rarely driven in the rain. We are the 2nd owner. The car is very clean and the interior is in great shape as it should for a well cared for 25k example.

It is located near Sacramento CA.

Any help with private party pricing would be greatly appreciated. I dont 'need' to sell the car but would like to in the next month or so.

Default Price

I have been watching prices for several months. It appears if you would like a quick sale, then list it for just under $20k. Otherwise, most cars just sit for sale in the 21-24k region and continually get bumped to the top with an occasional sale over an extended period of time.

Good luck!

The sales forum is not the place to do a price check. Please only post in the sales forum when you're ready to include an asking price.

I'd say low 20's if you want to move it, mid 20's if you're not in a hurry. Seems like 22 - 23 would be a fair price for all involved.

For whatever it is worth, I bought an '02 EB Z06, completely stock with 16,000 miles for $25k

I don't care whether its a good deal, or i got burned. I got the car I wanted.

I just hate it when someone tells you that their vehicle hasn't been driven in the rain. How do you wash your car & if it's "rarely driven in the rain" it has rain coating on it so it's not even worth mentioning since you probably didn't do a 100% detail when you brought the car out of the rain. Personally, I don't see the big deal about rain...a bigger deal is letting your vehicle sit outside to absorb damaging UV rays...how's about telling potential buyers how many hours the car has been subjected to UV rays instead of "rarely driven in the rain".

Thanks for the feedback, appreciate it.

I did speak to my brother yesterday who has a small car dealership in my area and he looked at the wholesale dealer auction sales for 01-03 and they all went through between ~21 - 23k. Most had mileage between 28 and 40k so the guidance of $22-23k is right on the money and honestly where I would want to be.

Agreed about the UV rays, very valid. You’re right, rain wont hurt the car, however, it will throw all sorts of dirt and crap into every little crack and crevice under a car. Driving in the rain a few time is no big deal unless its a trailer/concours queen. However, the more its driven in the rain the more crap accumulates.

That’s hardly the same as washing it. I prefer less crap and suspect others do as well.

I would say 23k would be a really good price.

I bought mine for 23k last June. It was very clean with 23k miles. That seems to be going rate.

Default Chrome Factory Wheels

To my knowledge, only the 2004 Z16 had chrome wheels which were described as polished aluminum wheels. Someone fact check this...I'm an original 2004 C5Z owner, so suppose its possible it was offered in 2002...

I think he means it has factory speedlines that have been chromed.

$23K sounds right for the car.
