I'm going to do my Wagon Wheels after all
Hi! You might remember a year ago or so when I talked about Wagon Wheels. I bought a 2001 with the polished thin spoke wheels, and then bought a set of silver painted Wagon wheels because I prefer their looks. In the meantime, I decided that the thin spokes looked fine. Until last week. I put the C5 in the Portland, Or. "Beaches" car show (Wednesdays at PIR). My friend, who newly purchased a C5 with only 15000 miles, noticed
extra wide front tires. I hadn't. I found out that I was running all rear wheels, although the aspect ratio of the fronts were 35 instead of the 40s on the rear axle. I am remembering the return trip from the Anacortes Corvette Show (about 5 hours for me) in a heavy rainstorm on the heavily rutted I-5. The car was wandering and it sure could've been hydroplaning. Now I know why. I had done extensive work on the chassis set up at auto shop in college, but somehow missed the 18" fronts. Now I have ordered 2 Goodyear Eagles in 17" and a couple of TPMS sensors, and will get all of this straightened out. I will have the stronger wheels and be happy about it! I am hoping I retain the front end height.
I am wading around on the internet trying to find some stronger LED headlights. I am figuring I now have 6000 lumen bulbs. What I am not sure, due to the way the ads are thrown together, is whether that's per bulb, or per pair! I am thinking I might want to try 30000 lumen bulbs. I am not willing to invest $700 and feel I can find something effective enough well short of that much outlay. What are you happy with?

I bought chromed wagon wheels for my 1999 in 2009 and they look good to me on the car.
Also kept the factory alloy wagon wheels just in case, some here say wagon wheels are ugly, I don’t think so, however the chromed ones look better.
My headlights are stock and need updating to be more bright, but not messing with it right now.

This is the most demented thing I think I've ever seen in my life.

I also love wagon wheels. I recently painted mine white haha
I have a spare set so I can run 18" square, but tire availability forced me to go back to 17/18 for the time being. I would very much enjoy a chrome set.

Uhhh there's a big difference between buying a car with wagon wheels on it from the factory and tolerating them vs having a nicer set of wheels and taking those off in favor of wagon wheels.
That's brain damage territory.
I'm just teasing of course. I really don't care if someone likes wagon wheels.

When I had my '99, I swapped out the stock painted wagon wheels for a set of chrome wagon wheels under a wheel exchange program through Ecklers. I have to say the chrome wheels looked really good on the car.

Is there anything special about wagon wheels, like are they forged or anything like that? They are generally dirt cheap - I saw a set of 6 of them on Craigslist a few weeks ago for $125.

I had wagon wheels on my car when I bought her and didn’t care for the look. Too me they looked clumsy it too each there own. I swapped out for a set of chrome 2003 replicas and no swapping out again for some Crays I bought and powder coating black gloss.

did you paint, or plasti-dip. I'm going to dip my FM10s white this fall I think.
