Default Ported ls6 intake with tb worth it ???

Well right now im looking at all my option to get more power before the blower option.Currently pushing 490whp/461wtq with my 383 on a stock untouched ls6 intake and tb.

On my first setup (stock 346ci ,g5x3 ) i did have a ported FAST 90/90 setup. But since those are poorly design my lower shell cracked twice...So there is no way im gonna spend more than 1k$ on a 92mm intake again ,neither a stupid 102 that wont fit correctly...
If i look here : http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-t...post1578391841. BER sell a ls3 stock ported intake that match the power increase of the FAST 102

Based on this test, are the ported LS6 result the same versus a FAST 90MM setup. Did some research but did not found anything...I mean if a FAST setup can give 20-30whp can a ported ls6 be close to those result too ???

So the questions : Is a ported ls6 intake matched to a ported tb worth it ???Would be nice to get the 500whp mark

Not worth it, a ported LS6 is no where near a fast 90/90 setup. If you are dead set against a fast, then get the TPIS 90mm snout put on and get an LS2 90mm TB. That will pick you up some ponies for sure. Your setup really needs a 90/90. The reason the stock ls3 matches the FAST is because the LS3 intake is freaking awesome.

I hate to ask, but did you have button head valley cover bolts when you installed the FAST? They are not known to crack unless someone installed them over the stock valley cover bolts.

I have a 90 and a 102 and never had a problem. Both made awesome power too.

Get the new 92 fast and use the 90 mm tb on it, you will love it and it will pick you up some pony,s. But for that or those $$$ get NOS and be done with it. But that will cost you more in the long run if you hit the bottle much at all.

I've heard way too many mixed things on porting and I too am on the fence with this. If I were to have anything ported ive have tony Mamo do it but still it's SO expensive! If I do the set up Robert miller suggests we r talking $1,900 ported brand new... A lot of coin for just an intake and tb... But if the gains are true... And from what I've heard they r... I'd only go with tony Mamo even tho it is expensive at least u know u r getting what u want...

He doesn't even need to port the fast, he will easily pick up 25/25 with a stock fast 90/LS2 tb setup with his 383. He can sell his ls6 for $300-350 so it won't be that much out of pocket either. No brainer IMO. The only way to crack these intakes is to install them with stock valley cover bolts or push a lot of boost through them.

I had a pro ported (Cory Harris) LS6 intake and ported stock TB and went to a fully ported FAST 90 setup on a heads/cam 346 and only gained 5hp at peak but lost ~3-4hp below peak power. If you don't trust the FAST for reliability send the LS6 intake to TPIS for the 90mm snout conversion. It costs $350.

Don't be lazy, go for LSX-R (102 mm) with matching TB, with that displacement and horses you want to let 'em run.

I did install the correct button valley cover bolts for the FAST intake. And yeah i would totally put a 102 on my car because the material is way much better. But they are a lot of guys having trouble to make them fit under the cowl and there is no way that i would cut my car to fit a intake

They sell motor mounts that will drop the car 1/2" to clear the cowl.

you need to get over it, the Fast has been redesigned. and did yours crack with the low profile valley cover bolts?
The next best next best thing is a ported LS2 intake and TB setup. should get within 5-7hp of an unported fast setup. you save about $250 compared to a used Fast 90/92

For reference, I picked up a Ported Fast 92 and ported LS2 tb and harness for under 950 shipped (Used of course) and sold the LS6 intake for 380. 78mm T/b sell for about 50-70.
So if you shop around you, you can upgrade for about 500 out of pocket.
Good luck
