Default I need to know where to place tow hook

I need to install a tow hook on the front of my lowered '01 Z06 to allow me to winch it into the single car enclosed trailer I use. It's already set up with e-track and the winch is centerline at the front of the trailer about 5'' off the floor. Who has figured where and how to place a nose hook. Any pics would be helpful. bma2

Default Tow Hook

I've seen threads where the owner took out the license cover and fabricated something there that went back to the frame cross member. Check the Autocross/RR section. I've got Pfadt-in the front they mount with nutserts on the left or right frame rail. With my old BMW (Euro spec) M635CSi, there was a factory tow hook on the right side of the bumper. Didn't have any trouble using that to winch it on the trailer for driving events. Your choice.

Took hooks should be mounted in line with frame rail. the trailer winch is mounted off center on the trailer to match the tow hook

Default P.s.

If you don't want to move the winch, you could always frame mount the tow hook (per above) and mount a hook to the edge of the trailer on the same side as the tow hook. Using a ****** block, you would move the center of pull 1/2 the distance to one side or the other. Downside is that your line speed would be 1/2 as fast. Just an idea.

This is my favorite setup. I have no need for it. But it is brilliant.
