Default Retro fitting TPMS on a Z06

I have a 2003 Z06 that I am installing new Z16 wheels on. I am going to install Orange Electronics TPMS sensors. This vette does not, nor has it ever been equiped with TPMS.

I do understand the tire learning sequence and have tried several "dry runs" through the DIC but can not get beyond the FOB learning sequence. When I hit options after bringing up FOB learning it takes me to learn FOB 1 not to learn tires sequence.

I have been to youtube and read a few posts on various forums which have provided a few answers but all seem relavent to simply replacing TPM sensors on an existing vette not to bringing new TPMS into a previously non TPMS system.

Please keep in mind that the new wheels and TPMS sensors are not yet even on the car. I am just trying to make sure not issues are encountered, but I have encountered what seems to be an issue through my DIC.

Any thoughts that will take me beyond my stumbling point?

Admitedly I am not a young pup so some electronics do escape me thus I ask for assistance.

You have to have someone with a Tech II or similar electronic mind control device convince your Z to enable its TPMS software before it will work.

Thanks Theo,

The local Chebby dealership is doing the other mounting work and such I'll just get them to "fix it" for me.

Because of what the DIC was allowing me to do or not do I kinda thought that might be the case.

Again thanks.

If your dealership is anything like the 3 around me, they won't know how to turn on the program.

Here is a link to the procedure.

That is awesome. I have been looking for days trying to find this. Thank you very much. Have even printed it out for use as needed.

Did mine last year, had to print out sequence for dealer since it took 4 techs standing around watching but it works now!

Do you know if these sensors are compatible with the Chevy computer system? I would suggest you confirm this before the tires are mounted.

Just kinda an update from some time ago. I had determined that the Orange Electronics units were compatable.

Chebby did the install, used stick on's and flashed the computer and all is as intended. They work fine. Pleased I did that as long as all was apart anyway.

Thaks to all for the help and advice.
