All was going well when I did the UK Autocheck last week! UK one was clear but showing mileage at import as 62,000 miles in 2005.
Then I finally got the VIN number from the seller today and did a Autocheck USA! Would you still buy it?

An insurance loss on a 2000 C5 in 2004 would sure raise my eyes. That is a bunch of damage to end up being a total loss.

The odometer is a non issue, there was one minor error and the following year looks like it was corrected.

If you paid a fair price for an assumed clean C5, then you might seriously consider having the auction cancelled.

Yes I contacted the seller and he denies knowing anything.
The mileage was corrected but the car left NY with 68k on the clock, but it still has 68k on the clock 5 years later and through 2 owner changes since being in the UK

Way TOO murky a past to be able to be sure about a damn thing on this car. I hope you declined to buy this car. It was in a MAJOR acident, then half-*** fixed and sold with a salvage title or worse and perhaps there is still money to be paid some company somewhere who is holding the title, but nether the less, I'd pass on this one. There are plenty of straight honest C5 corvettes out there. This one is bringing a trunk full of problems with it ! And once you get it, what are you going to do, You'll have to set it right just so you can unload it. Stay away from this lemon.

Yeah, have to factor in also the price. How much did you priced it at? Are you a good mechanic? Usually good mechanics jump in on low priced cars knowing they can fix it as a project.
