Default England Green Cam Track Results

Just thought I would share a little bit about my first results with the car at the track. Tonight, I decided to make 4 passes at our 1/8 mile track. Fridays is imports, but I have never seen the track prep this poor. On my 18 inch DR's, I couldn't cut better than a 1.92 60ft and I am used to cutting high 1.6's to mid 1.7's in the car. I've made quite a few passes in the low/mid 1.7 range and have a handle on how to launch it, but I just could not do it with 250 ricers and little track prep. So the ET's were only .1 better than stock, but the car is really moving down the track. I'm thinking 122-124mph when the the weather cools down in the 1/4/.

The results.

Before the cam.
Car trapped 91-92.5mph with DA's ranging from 600ft to 2000ft.

After England Green Mayhem II cam
Car trapped 95.2-96.4mph tonight, DA was 2254, the highest I have ever run the car

Tonight, I was also running heavy chrome wheels. I also had an extra 45 pounds in the car from Gymnastics equipment. In all, I'm happy to pick up 4mph in the 1/8 from just the cam in horrible conditions. I can't wait to see what it will do in the fall with some light wheels/tires and good air.

Thanks to the boys at England Green. Can't wait for some more power!

I look forward to seeing it in action Mark. What are the chances the slower 60' helped the trap speed? Oh and gymnastics equipment?....

Bruce, I went out to Sealy last night and made a few passes. Spun on the launch on 2 runs, and missed 2nd on one run while still taking out a Hennessey Viper(have it on video). Every pass was down 2-3mph in the 1/8 mile. We had a slight headwind, and the DA was 2700ft. I was trapping 92.5-93mph.

I was thinking that the wheelspin might inflate the MPH a bit, but it was consistant through all the runs at HMP. 2 runs, I actually eased the car out and didn't spin, and the MPH was the same as when I did spin.

I had legs to a few balance beams in the trunk. I hadn't planned on going to the track that night, and just went when I few friends said they were going.

Nice results Mark, considering the weight and weather! Curious if you're shifting to 4th in the 1/8th?

That got me thinking that might have hurt my mph in the 1/8th at the 1/4 mile track Saturday. At the 1/8 mile track, I leave the car in 3rd crossing the traps. I'm not exactly sure what RPM I am crossing the traps in 3rd, but I would guess it's between 6600-6800rpm. Maybe I short shifted 3-4?

FWIW when i was doing 96mph in the 1/8 (7.5 ET) I did 123mph (11.57 ET 1.87 60ft) in the 1/4 stock clutch and gears and this was the only pass I made as the clutch was giving me ****)...did gears and a clutch and was going 99-100mph in the 1/8 (7.0 ET) and 127-128 in the 1/4 (10.9-11.1 ET 1.63-1.68 60ft) were your mph splits similar in gain from 1/8 to 1/4?

I have run quite a few 7.6's at 91-92mph in the car with just headers and cold air. (1.70-1.74 60fts).

Friday, I ran 7.6-7's at 95-96mph with the new cam. (1.9 60ft)

I gained nothing in the 1/4 mile at the slow track. Saturday, I ran 7.8's at 92mph, and 12.1-12.2 at 117mph. (same MPH without the cam, but much higher DA). Also, the track on Saturday is much slower than other tracks in the area, so I am not worried about the ET that much right now. The car put down the numbers on the dyno, and put down the MPH in the 1/8 that I was hoping for at our 1/8 mile track. Just need to wait for it to cool down, and for HRP to start opening up on Sundays where we actually get a track that hooks up and is not slow.

yeah my point is when I did gears with mn6 I ring out 3rd in the 1/8 and picked up 3mph in the 1/8, but back halved 2mph slower because the gears caused an extra shift...with gears on top of an mn12 tranny it is possible to gain ET in the 1/8, but drop mph because of having to make the shift to 4th right before the traps depending on tire size and rev limit(which I know you're running a tall tire, but wasn't sure of your rpm limit) you're very close to that point from my guesstimations and just trying to consider all things...IMO your clutch is costing you mph lol

I've been to ricer night at the local track and the track was just aweful as well. I think the traction level was somewhere between a dirt road and black ice.
