I have the 2004 Sachs shocks and I will be doing some tweaking of my suspension, would going to the C6 Z06 shocks benefit me or should I do a T1 shock upgrade? I do do some DD events at Hockenheim from time to time.

Most cannot tell the difference between the 04Z shocks and the 06Z shocks, so I doubt it will benefit you. The next step would be the T1's for you.

Z06Fix

T1 shocks are setup for the T1 bars and springs. I would keep your 04's unless you are upgrading everything. They are a very good middle ground shock.

Over-torque

if you were needing to replace worn stock shocks? would the 04Z or 06+ Zs be a better shock for a daily?

I'm not an expert but by reading a whole lot of posts here about GM shocks it appears the C6 Z06 shocks are about the same as the 04 C5 Z06 shocks. The big difference is the price. C6 shocks are about half the cost of C5 shocks.

I think the jury is still out on the 04Z06 vs C6Z06 shocks, one was designed for the C5 Z06, the other was not.

I'd personally spring for pfadt's new adjustable shocks if I was in your shoes.

I've got the C6 Z shocks on my 02 Z and like them quite well. There is not that much difference in the C5 - C6 suspension that you could tell a difference. I would bet that only Ron Fellows could tell the diffference in the shocks. Go for the C6's. The T-1's as mentioned are designed for the full T-1 suspension upgrade and you should do it all or none.
