CORVETTE BOB'S 2002 Z06 DYNO RESULTS!!!!
OK, here they are:
Stock 2002 Z06, SAE Coreected
349 RWHP
341 RWT
ONLY 200 MILES
With a 15% correction factor, this is 410 HP, and 401TRQ.
Gotta tell ya, it feels faster than this. My 'O1 Z06 w/ PRT (straight through exhaust) and Halltech intake did 343 RWHP, and 342 RWT, and the '02 feels a lot faster than just 6 more RWHP.

Bob, how many miles are on the car? I'm wondering if it has more potential with break-in?

Very nice Bob, my '01 w/ full length headers & Donaldson is only abt 5hp ahead of you. Your car w/ those mods should be in the 370 range=435HP

Now, that's more like it. I was hoping the '02 that dynoed at the Blackhills Classic was an anomoly. Congrat!

Corvette Bob,
You just can't make a judgement based solely on a gain of 6 HP. How broad the power band is is more important. That would account for your SOTP impressions.

I guess I'll be the first one to say that the numbers are a bit lower than what I expected, especially considering the other post where Ricker812 says he dynoed his 2001 Z06 at 342 hp. If Bob's car is the average 2002 Z06 then it barely meets the factory specs, and that's not a good sign. :(

350 is great! What number were you expecting?
It's only one dyno but I think 352 will be the avg.
Rippied saw one dyno lower but there will be variances but a real 20+ is great. I didn't expect more cause there are a few variables... Eliminating the pups were good for 5 at most. That leaves 15 to play with. The cam change is still on the mild side compared to tuner cams bringing in 15-20hp so in conjunction with the new intake and screenless MAF, it sounds about right.
I want to see how a 2002 LS1 fairs cause there were no changes this year except the tigher piston to wall clearance and the coated pistons to reduce heat due to the tighter clearance. In high performance, tighter clearance may rob a little hp but with the LS6, there were enuff changes to negate any loss but with the LS1, I'm curious.

I think these numbers are great. The person with a 342hp stock '01 is on the high side. My stock '01 dyno'd at 330/330 on all 3 runs I did. Someone else mentioned to me that Lingenfelter has dyno'd several '01s and they all came in at 332.

Net Junkie.. actually his dyno #'s are NOT on the 'HIGH' side. There are at least 10-12 Forum members that all dyno'd between 340-345 RWHP in their '01's, including myself & RAT. So I would think that the initial '02 #'s are a little disappointing. Hell, I dyno'd 363 RWHP & 363RWTQ with an intake, ported T-Body & MAF screen removed alone.

Re: CORVETTE BOB'S 2002 Z06 DYNO RESULTS!!!! (Corvette Bob)
Having seen plenty of stock '01 Z06 dyno pulls in the 340-345 rwhp range (though not mine :( ), 349 rwhp for an '02 seems disappointing. And 341 rwtq is even less of an improvement, as my (weak) '01 dyno'd at 336 rwtq. I would be interested in seeing the actual dyno sheet to compare the overall power and torque curves. How much mid-range improvement is there in the '02?

Re: CORVETTE BOB'S 2002 Z06 DYNO RESULTS!!!! (Corvette Bob)
It seems like there is a large variation in 2001 dyno numbers, anywhere from upper 320's to upper 340's so it's quite possible there will be a similar variation among 2002's. Anyway, the real test of power will be 0-60, 0-100 and 1/4 runs. Supposedly the Sept. issue of C&D has a test of the 2002's acceleration and if the numbers are consistent the 2002 ran 0.3 seconds quicker than the 2001 in the 1/4 mile. But the numbers may not be consistent as those were probably two different drivers.
