RPO Code Zo6 or Z06?
After owning a couple, and reading everything that has ZXX on it I'm still confused... Is it Z oh 6 or Z zero 6 ? Rpo codes aren't always the same alpha numberic in sequence ie: LS6, LT1, Z28, Z71, FE4, ZR1... so which is it!!
My vote has always been Z06 (ZEE Zero Six), what your opinion?

There's the factually correct way, and then there's the way you say it. You knock off a whole syllable saying it the wrong way, so being the lazy bastard that I am, it's Zeosix.

And, you can't be accused of beating a dead horse if you didn't know it was dead.
Here's my last answer to this question that keeps popping up.
It's been done before, a ways "down below". Here's my previous post.
**************************************** ***********
You had a good original question and proper answer, how about some nit-picking ?
When I look at my original window sticker:
The first line in the upper left corner is "2004 CORVETTE Z06".
The type font shows clearly the difference between the letter "O" and the number "zero".
The "O" in Corvette is not the same as the "0" in 2004.
The "0" in Z06 is the same as the zeros in "2004".
Therefore, I conclude (actually I already knew), it is Z "zero" 6.
But, it is, as always, pronounced "Zee oh six". In the U.S.
This follows the GM convention for defining "options", sometimes upgraded to "model", like Z28, Z71, etc. But, the ways of the General are deep and mysterious. Like sometimes letting letters slip into second place, as in LS6.
And, please, no crap from the Canadians about "Zed oh six". I know, I know. I have a '71 Zed 28.
I pulled a "real" Trans-Am Camaro to St. Jovite, Quebec track for the 1968 race on a open trailer,
and all I heard was poor kids on the side of the two-lane road yelling "Zed 28, Zed 28".
It was only the 2nd year for Camaro and the Z28. They LOVE road-racing in Canada.
Excuse me, I have to go pick more nits and fight some ignorant folks about "Porche-ah" or Porch".

Thanks for the input... It's nice to know that even a retired insider says that the naming convention is a mystery!
SpiralCoupe, Thanks for the encouragement... I'm sure I'll get one soon, but I gotta admit patience isn't one of my virtues, like I have any virtue. lol
Searching all the online sources is the reason for the question... If I were to post an AD I'd put BOTH in the title to ensure being in the search result. I search both, and the result are usually about 3 to 1, with the Zero leading.
Sorry for the dead horse... literally... we put down Spider Sunday, a Show Horse, and family pet.

Somewhere, sometime, to someone, it was a least a partially rational decision.
And, most certainly approved by a committee.

A general trend in the English language is that people typically say "Oh" when referring to the number Zero.
Think about phone numbers. People usually say "oh" instead of Zero when giving out phone numbers with the number zero.
Think about model years. When referring to a 2002, 2003, 2004 car people usually say "oh two", "oh three", and "oh four" instead of "zero two", "zero three", and "zero four".
