Here is an E-mail Vararam sent me today when I asked about the B2 differences.


The B2 has many revisions throughout the system. We also have all new filters specs on all of the systems:


SS, Super Street/ 2layer

HP+ full competition/ single layer

Baja- for severe off road duty/ 3-4 layer depending on customer preference


The website is being updated soon to reflect the newer products.

Probably the same. I think Vararam is still trying to work the bugs out of the filter sealing and filter quality more than anything else.

I have the Vararam VR-1B HP+ system on my Z06 and I'm happy with it so far. What are the advantages of VR-2B over VR-1B? Is it worth changing?

The improvements of the 2B are listed at the top of this thread, but to be honest, I doubt the HP improvement is going to be any better, I'm sure most of the improvements are just trying to get the filter to seal better and improvements to the filter quality. I wouldn't rush to sell your 1B just yet.

Guys we havent been given any reason to believe that there will be any HP or TQ gains converting from 1B-B2 from conversations with Vararam. Our understanding is that the changes were made to improve the overall quality of the product and ease of installation. We have no tangible information other than that. Attention to air filter media quality was covered by Blkout!

If you're interested in a Vararam and haven't yet purchased the VR-1B, wait until you get the installation instruction on the VR-2.

The VR-1B was a PITA to install! I did it but it took me 4 hours and, yes, you will need someone to help you. Also, you best installation method will be to use a hoist (lift) to install, not ramps as the VR-1B instruction say.

Just my $.02 from personal experience of 4 weeks ago when I installed the VR-1B system.
