Default Carolinas emissions testing?

I am moving South out of WI and have to ask if emissions testing is an issue for a heads, cam, cats and headers car given a clean LS1 edit program that does not throw codes?
TIA

SC doesn't have a STATE emissions test (or any safety tests either for that matter), but some of the COUNTIES do. For the most part if you can start it, stop it, and all the lights work, then it's legal.

Exactly where (what general area) are you planning on moving to?

BTW, take it from a transplanted yankee, you're going to LOVE the weather down here :D

As this is an "elective" move I am leaning toward somewhere north of Charlotte like Lake Norman or Rock Hill SC. Any input?

Lake Norman is very very nice.

Rock Hill SC is also quite nice. SC has no emissions testing too

Now to the important stuff.

Charolette Motor Speedway is in Concord NC - just north of Charlotte
Carolina Motor Sports is in Kershaw SC an hour se of Charotte
Roabling Road is near Savannah GA about 3 hours south east
Road Atlanta- is an hour sw
VIRginia Motorspeedway is 3 hours north.

You would have more track time then you would know what to do with.

Need I say more :D

Schedule of DE http://www.trackschedule.com/sched.html

Great! We are looking at property in Wilmington the week after next! What do you think of that area? I want to get a boat and live near a marina.

Which roadcourse do you like the best? Gingerman has me spoiled as you can show up 3 nights a week (practice nights) pay $60.00 and get a ton of track time.

I love wilmington - it is 100 miles from Raleigh down I 40 - so some times I drive down there to clear the head, walk on the beach, eat lunch then drive home.

Dang that would spoil me rotten :D in a good way

I have driven all but Atlanta and Charlotte motor speedway.

VIR is by far the best track in the south east and is the second / longest track next to Road America. 3.27 miles and 4.25 mile configurations. to Road America's 4 miles. 150 foot elevation change too. http://www.virclub.com

Many of my freinds say that Road Atlanta is a great track but you need to really know the track with its blind, off camber down hill corners. and walls that come up out of nowhere.

Roabling Road and Carolina Motorsports park are flat and many long sweaping corners that challange one. Neather is really a top speed track.

I will do Charlotte Motor speedway again in Aug. Possible 160+ mph straights ( depending on how much guts one has ) on the NASCAR oval part before diving into the infield road course.

So there are options. Plus with driving there are other tracks too, Seabring in FL Barbar Motorsports Park in Alabama, SUmmit point in WV

And the best part is almost 12 months a year of track time. NO SNOW like in Wis - I grew up in Wis just north of Milwaukee and went to school in Lacrosse and Madison.

 Tom

Let's keep in touch. If and when we get settled down there I'll buy you a beer. And we can figure out how to nitrous shot the boat motor!

Nitrous shot in the boat motor? - not a problem - But I dont think the roll bar will work very well.
