Reduced Engine Power after Porting TB HELP!!
Had my TB ported and polished and replaced it this evening. On trying to start got a message of reduced engine power. All connections are firm, have reset any codes. Please help and advise! TIA!

Possibly the throttle sensor positioning switch (on the passenger side) the little plastic thing that plugs in to your TB....may be a possible culprit. Undo it, make sure it's clean and positioned properly.
Otherwise you may have to get a code scan on whats going on???

thats the little computer that sits in front of the big one. little one ecu and the big one is pcm. the ecu controlls throttle and other devices that are infront of the intake manifold. the ecu is what would show reduded engine power and traction bla bla. are you sure all is hooked in all the way?

when an ecu goes bad those are the messages that show on dic . i forget the code #. but there is no reason for it to go bad, gotta be a conector!!! :cuss :cuss

Ran the codes 1120,1220, 15??, all related to the TP motor or sensors. So I took everything apart, used some compressed air to blow out all the fitting and put it back together. Turn the key and  it fired right up. Just got back from a quick spin and I love it. Thanks for all the help!

The exact same thing happened to me. Mine was idling about 1800 rpm and when i tried to hit the gas it fall on it's face(flooding). I had the same reas out, "reduce engine power" and "service traction system". First thought was oh god i messed it up b/c i had never don it before. Upon popping the hood, i had forgot the plug in that plugs into the side of the throttle body. My best advice is calm down and double check everything.

Re: Reduced Engine Power after Porting TB HELP!! (AZGASSER)
Most likely a P1514 Code
This can happen with ported TB's if you remove too much material around the throttle opening area. If you look at a stock TB there is a slight decrease in diameter. This is critical throttle tip in area.
What's happening is that the PCM detects greater airflow through the MAF then what the PCM determines is appropriate for a give throttle position.
You can either:
Put stock TB back on,
Have another ported TB done making sure they don't remove the lip completely at the first 5-10deg of throttle opening,
or have your computer programmed to adjust the P1514 criteria to compensate for the ported TB.
