Re: Sebring Race Report LG Motorsports World Challenge Corvette (kumar75150)
Kumar,
The water temp was 195-200* max, and the oil temp was 220* going back into the engine.
We are very competitive as you all know. We are not satisfied, and we will be back with a better package for the next race.
thanks alot guys,
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Sebring Race Report LG Motorsports World Challenge Corvette (Qualified 2nd)
Hi Guys,
I just got back from Sebring where we ran our first World Challenge race of the season. We took our "LG Pro Long Tube Special" Corvette on it's maiden voyage with no test time. Things went well, with all things considered.
Qualifying results go to: http://www.world-challenge.com/2004/...eb/gt-qual.pdf
We qualified on the outside pole to the new Caddilac CTS-V with a time of 210.1 which is 2.5secs faster than last years pole time. We were the fastest Corvette all weekend except for one session. Then after our fast qualifying run, on our cool down lap, I got hit by 21st qualifier in a Porsche Turbo and spun at 100+ mph which "Flat Spotted" my tires.
The rules state that a car must start the race on the tires that it qualified on. If you don't, you MUST start at the back of the grid. We had no choice but to change tires and started at the end of the 32 car field.
The race went uneventful until I reached the 10th place viper. I had burned my tires down getting through the pack and ran out of talent trying to pass him. I spun and lost 2 spots, which put me in 13th at the end of the race.
Not a great race, but all things considered, we took a car from nothing, to the fastest Corvette World Challenge car in 60 days from starting the project.
We will do some testing before we head out to Lime Rock ct for memorial day. Hope to see some of you there.
The top 4 Corvettes were running our LG Pro Long Tube headers. And 3 of them were running our LG Super Cool radiator with built in oil cooler. Plus, the 3R Corvette was also running out 2 stage drysump Trans/Rear end pump, and headers.
Phil McClure up held the Corvette honor in the 3R Corvette. Congrats.
We are looking for the Cadillac's to get some changes in their base weight and intake size before next race.
See you at the races.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti LGM

Those are great results considering the amount of test time you had with the car

Starting at the back of 32 cars and ending 13th is impressive if all things had gone perfectly--congrads and I would consider this a very successful event--

Re: Sebring Race Report LG Motorsports World Challenge Corvette (Moundir)
Mike,
Andy Pilgrim is a good driver, but so are the top 10 drivers in the field. Tommy Archer, Leighton Reece, Phil Mc Clure, Lou G, Randy Pobst, Mike Galati. They are all at the same level. It was the CTS-v that was not in "class". It has a 7 liter Lemans engine that was de-stroked to 358 cu in. It has 2.2" valves and a 4.150 bore with a big intake manifold and a 90mm throttle body.
It also has a Hewland clutchless gear box. It was made for the Lemans series, but convinced the SCCA to let it run in the World Challenge series. The SCCA had the wool pulled over their eyes by Cadillac.
To turn a 210.2 during the race with full fuel and old tires, while going through traffic could not have been done by any other car in the series. The SCCA has it's hands full.
At least for us, LGM, we were very happy with the outside pole on our first race, out of the box. The first race laps that we did were at Sebring. We had no time to test.
If you take the Caddy's out of the picture, we beat the cars that were already at the same level. And for Lime Rock hopefully there will be a level playing field.
Thanks
Lou Gigliotti
See you at the races.

Re: Sebring Race Report LG Motorsports World Challenge Corvette (LG Motorsports)
Damn so it's not the hot shoe drivers then  Doesnt seem fair but lets see those Cts' fair in a smaller and more technical track like Lime Rock :steering: The only gratifing thing is that they beat Mike Galatti and the Audis
