The Vette Doctor's take it to the "Next Level" [PICS]
Well it is getting close to being rolled out for its debut on April 03 at the Vette Doctors Pro 8 Challenge in Englishtown, NJ . It came alive yesterday and the tune is going on it this week. John is a long time Vette Doctor customer and caught the fever last year at one of the quick 4's. He, Carmen, Dennis and Joey created the plan and this is the result:
It is a NA, C5R block C5 with a nine inch rear. That is about the extent of my knowledge of the car. I am sure Carmen will add more details as the car is completely finished.
bobby_rollbar did the solid axel work (he did Paul and my cage also, he does real nice work), Joey did all the mechanical fabrication, fit and finish and Dennis did the power train (more on that at a later date :) ).
Some will say this is a race car. Well, they are right! As is mine, Paul's and many other cars running these crazy numbers. Once you get into the single digit times and you want to keep going deeper, you have to take it to the "Next Level" and that is exactly what The Vette Doctors and John have done!
Here are a few more shots:

I have a whole set of pics from Bob on the build that I am working on putting together. I'll post them as soon as I have them ready.

When I spoke to Bob at NRC Motorsports a few months back he told me once you back-half the car it loses about 4-500 pounds , this car should run nines no problem with a naturally aspirated stroker . Any plans for a power adder for this car ?

Congrats Vette Doctors. Awesome buildup! I'm still waiting on the 225 AFR heads to be released along with a few more mods and then a trip to the Island for installation. :yesnod:

That car looks mean as all heck with those slicks back there.
When converting a C5 to solid axle do they relocate the trans - if you have any pictures of the undercarriage I would love to see how they set up everything under there. Very cool stuff I would imagine

Very nice!! Kuddo's to everyone involved!
I guess I'd fall on the side of it being more a race car because it lost streetability..... i.e., lost the versatility of the twisties. But what the heck, it was built with a purpose in mind and should fit that very well.
Super job guys!!

You guys are great! That beast looks sick. I can't wait to hear it and watch it go down the track.
I can't wait for the full release of the pictures so I can see the animal you built for him. On second thought, I'll see ya at the shop later :)
