Kooks 1 7/8 headers dyno numbers
Here are the final numbers. Stock 289hp 302 tq. After headers and off road pipe only, no edit. 324hp 339tq. Jeff put my car on the dyno again monday and got 340.5 hp and 357.1 tq after edit. Believe it or not. That is still with stock air filter and stock mufflers. I will say that Jeff Nance is the man when it comes to LS1 edit. One warning though. If people think the 1 3/4 Kooks headers are hard to install the 1 7/8 headers are a PITA. Jeff will be posting the before and after dyno sheets at http://www.speedengineeringanddyno.com by the end of the week. We never thought we would see this kind of gain, but i'm not complaining. I hope this helps you guys.

Nice #'s! What sort of difference would you see in the 1 3/4 and the 1 7/8 on a stock LS1?? I am on the verge of jumpin on the gp through MTI. :smash:

:iagree: Didnt I see a thread about kooks on sale. I would like to see a comparison as well. I was just about to take the LG plunge but if anyone else has had similar numbers I don't care how hard they are to install.

So you're saying you got 35rwhp and 37 rwtq uncorrected, and 51.5 rwhp, 55.1 rwtq corrected from just a change to the Kooks 1 7/8 and O/R x pipe???
If so that's INSANE! I assume your car was fairly stock before the headers?

"Completly stock and 7k miles."
Those are some crazy numbers.
Do you have any dyno sheets? How does the tq look?
I wonder why everyone is saying the 1 7/8 are too big for a stock 346cid motor? With gains like this, why would anyone bother with the 1 3/4 Kooks?

This is interesting. I have wanted to take a look at Kooks but every time I go to one of their links on their website I get the dreded "The Page Can Not Be Displayed" message. What gives?
Is it just me or is anyone else having this problem? Anyway I have been unable to get any information on them as a result.
Do they have a package deal like FLP does? Headers, crossover, cats etc?
Where is the best place to buy them?
How much on average?

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers dyno numbers (LeMansBlue04)
Someone said torque wins races, Hows 340 at 3200 and peak was 357 at 4300. Jeff is working on getting the dyno sheets up. He scanned them but they didn't come out clear. I havn't seen yet so i am just as anxiuos as you guys.

It seems your tq numbers are in line with this Z06 http://www.z06vette.com/forums/showt...949#post583949

I have the 1 3/4" and the 3'" to 2 1/2" Off Road Ceneter Section (Catless).
I did a bunch of mods all at once but just ran 122.58 MPH in the 1/4 with my automatic with them :D

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers dyno numbers (2001 Red Coupe Bandit)
i had kooks1 3/4 " installed today with GHL's. My car is at the dealers getting re-ringed and for a couple extra bucks, they are doing my bolts ons. The mechanic said the kooks were a little pain it the butt to get in and had to jack up the motor 4 inches before the headers slide in from the top. he bolted on the headers, LS6 manifold, x-pipe, 175 degree thermo and the GHLs and said the car ran and sounded very nice . not as loud as he thought it would. Tomorrow he's putting on the vararam, and ill pick up the car saturday. My wrench turner is a stickler for perfection, and said he liked it. but, it was a little pain to get on the headers , it's the truth. I cant wait the get the car back and have it tuned, and get a little side ways :smash:

Re: Kooks 1 7/8 headers dyno numbers (phils C5 vette)
I was whit jeff when he dynoed your car the other night. It sounded pretty good and te torque curve was nice. I'm not real knowledgeable about this stuff but it look like a nice solid gain across the board. Very nice car
I was there monday for the 340hp pull. It was nice.
