Cars have started to arrive in SC.

Six Vettes made it to the track last night for some test and tune.

Tonight the track opens for us at 6 PM.


Headed to get some good ole Carolina BBQ around five!!!

Racing went on test & tuning today with bracket racers gathered to hone their timing on the tree. About 30 Vettes ran tonight. Many of them in the mid 11 range.

Keith Valone (spltwndo) took the ET title running is C4 at an eye popping 8.97 in the 1/4. Keith is a regular racer in the Florida Corvette Challenge.

Some of the Tuner shootout cars came out as well to start to get a feel for the track. Most holding back just a little so as not to tip the cards.


The remainder of the weekend looks like this.
Sat 9 AM gates open and around 10 AM time trials begin. Brackets begin around NOON. When brackets are over, the 8 quickest qualifiers during the morning time trials will be paired up for some fun heads up pro tree racing.

The night session (not corvette related) begins around 4 PM. time trials and gamblers race.

Sunday, 9 AM gates open and running to start around 10 am. Sunday ALL runs will be counted for the Tuner shootout. Each driver should get 5 runs and their best of the 5 will be counted as the tuner shootout time.

Oh yeah, you missed a great night to test and tune.

I got 15 runs in. Why, I needed them, BAD.
The track was basically ours for four hours and many of us took advantage of it. Others got more runs than me!!!

Man I wish I could be there. :sad: :sad: This is going to be one awesome show. I can't wait to see the video footage. Please take hours of vid. Those of us that can't be there don't want to miss anything.

I got to the track late today due to bad directions, they were finishing time shots but still didn't want to let me in to race. I declined to spectate, I came to race, and since I can't get any at the track I'll be taking it to the street :D I gotta hold myself over until I can race tomorrow somehow....

The Eckler's National Corvette Challenge is now in the books.

Congratulations to the winner, Larry Beutlich from our EFCC in Florida.

Larry beat Emily Lewis, the reigning bracket champion in Florida.

Emily defeated Keith Valone in the semis, yet another EFCC racer when Keith cut a -.001 (.499_ light.

Turn out was a not as great as expected but Corvette Connections was nice enough to put in some purse money to ensure a full payout.

We had our Quick 8 race and we were treated to some fine racing. The bump spot was 11.60 (wouldn't you know it, it was me).

Number one qualifier was Keith Valone, in his Corvette Connection C4 with a 9.82. The Vette Doctors pair of Paul Major (Major Spray) and Bill Maloney (Boweryboy) were second and third also in the nines. The rest of the Field was filled out with local
Phillip Kennedy (Pk'sC5) with an LPE TT,
a 10 second 65,
Joe Gabella (Blue Flames),
Steve(allthrottlenobottle) and
REDGAR.

Great day for racing with bright sunny skies and some nice looking cars.

We had some local clubs come out too. Must have been 120 or so Corvette there.
