Anyone interested in a carbon fiber hood for the C5
Halltech can make a pure carbon inner and outer hood that would weigh in at 13#, and would come out OE quality identical to the Z16 GM hood. If you have an interest in this, we can make it happen in the very near future.

I would be interested a raised one that would clear a Magnuson but would look like the stock hood with no holes, screens or any gimmicks.

I paid 1600 for my carbon fiber hood from motorcity mold. Why is this stock looking hood so expensive? How much is the Z 16 hood from GM?

Just as added info....
At the same price as the standard hood I'd love a CF hood.
At 2.5K and with the C6 coming out I'd personally pass on a CF hood.
I know Jim's products are excellant...I have his x-pipe.

Would the lay-up and finish be good enough that c.f. accents could be left "bare" (clear-coated, actually) when painting?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Jim,
I'm actually interested in your Ti Header system complete with cats and exhausts. How easy are the headers to install? I'm using for street not to race. Interested in power comming steady throughout the band. I'm going to compliment this with Halltech Ram Air Induction. Is there pricing yet? What HP/TQ can I expect to gain using this combination ? How does TI hold up to heat? I am holding up a purchase of Kook headers until I get all info on your product.

I will have pricing soon. Titanium is perfect for normally aspirated apps. Just not turbo.

Re: Anyone interested in a carbon fiber hood for the C5 (Jim Hall)
For those interested in the Halltech STinger Hood in carbon fiber, we have lowered the price to $1,895.00. We only charge $500 deposit to get in the cue.
2 month waiting list at this time and it won't get better.

Re: Anyone interested in a carbon fiber hood for the C5 (Jim Hall)
Would it be linear carbon like the GM hood. The exposed section on the GM hood is the only part that is a cross weave for appearance only. The rest of the hood is linear carbon so they don't have to use a thick gel coat to get the painted finish to come out smooth. Before people start yellin at me tellin me I'm wrong, this is something I read straight from GM's websight! Also is $2500 painted? Seems awful steep with the other CF Hoods out there almost a $1000 less.
