Default Dyno numbers for my Patriot heads/cam combo

I finally drove my car to 21st Century Musclecars yesterday and got my dyno tune done. Everyone seemed to be pretty impressed with the final results as was I considering I have such a small cam. My original untuned numbers were: 377.5 hp and 361.3 tq. FINAL RESULTS: 392.4 hp and 380.7 tq.
All of this was done on 91 octane gas. My setup again is the Patriot 6.0 heads at stock LS1 10:1 compression and a comp cams 216/220 114. I also have FLP headers, corsa exhaust, intake mods, ported TB etc......ya know, the usual bolt ons. Anyway, I'm happy and the car feels plenty strong. I hope this helps as a reference for others wanting to do similar mods. Regards, Eric :yesnod:

How does that cam compare to stock? Not much difference is it?

Your numbers sound just about right for what you did to the car.

Great numbers! I ran a little cam before moving up to a larger one. Can't beat the around town manners and killer torque of the smaller grinds.

Hey all thanks for the compliments! To answer a few of the questions, dv05, I installed the heads and cam myself which I had ordered from Texas Speed and Performance. The lift of my cam is .563/.569 on a 114 centerline. I went with the smaller cam since I didnt want a really choppy idle and driveability issues. I kind of like the stealth factor.....leaves people wondering when you hopefully kick their butts in a race! :D And, Richie Rich, since i did the cam and heads at the same time I cant tell you if the cam by itself made a big difference or not. Judging from my numbers I'd say it certainly did something. Keep in mind, my stock cam was 198/209 with .496 lift. My 216/220 with .563/.569 lift is substantially larger looking at the numbers dont ya think? The stock 02 Z06 cam specs out at 204/218 on a 117.5 centerline just for comparison sake. Again, I wanted my car to have a good idle and great driveablilty. I've been in enough cars with the big cams to know that wasnt exactly what I wanted. I think big cams are great power adders if you dont mind making the sacrifices that go along with some of them. As they say, to each his own. I did race a guy with an 03 Z06 before my tuning and flat ran away from him from start to finish....TWICE. Thats really all I wanted to be able to do in the long run which was be faster than a Z06. I've accomplished that mission and am super pleased with my car. My last mod will probably be 3:90 gears and I'll call it good for awhile. I hope I answered any questions you guys had out there. Take care, Eric :yesnod:

Eric, another wuestion if you don't mind? Why did you decide to go with the 6.0 heads instead of the 5.3 ( higher compresion ) or the 5.7 ( same CR ) ??

I was under the impression that most folks go with the 6.0 heads because it lowers the CR and allows them to go with more boost ??

Thanks and congrats again

dv05, your exactly right. I went with the 6.0 liter heads because I thought somewhere down the line I will want to supercharge the car. And yes most folks go with this head because of its lower CR. I decided to have patriot performance just go ahead and make my heads a stock 10:1 ratio. I would obviously had better hp/tq gains if I went with a higher compression head which right now seems like it would have been a good idea as happy as I am now with the car. I would have even more hp and smiles....lol. But I just didnt want to run around with the head/cam setup on low compression heads since i wouldnt be supercharging it for awhile. I really dont think detonation is gonna be that big of an issue for me if I do decide to supercharge even at the 10:1 compression. So, in a nutshell I think my combo with just nice ported LS6 heads with a 10:5: 1 CR would be a great combo. It would probably yield more power etc. But as I stated, in my case if I wanted to supercharge down the road I'll at least have a good flowing 6.0 liter head with what I think will be a reasonable CR. Hope this helps, Eric :yesnod:

Eric, I'm in Edmond as well, and its crazy cause I'm planning on going w/the patriot h/c too. I'd love to take a look at your vette to see what it's like and how it runs. Give me a call tomorrow if you're able to, I think the weather is supposed to stay nice at least for tomorrow. Hope to hear from you!--Andy, 4052024120

Andy, from your screen name I know your a good guy!!! Go OU!!!! Hopefully we'll win the championship tonight. Anyway, I just put a new high rise hood on my car and it is getting painted as we speak. It should be done by Wednesday. When I get it back I'll for sure give you a ride and a look so you can see what its like. Until then, take care Eric :chevy

Eric,

I just got the Patriot 6.0 Heads myself along with a Bigger Cam and KOOKS LT Headers.

I have an SS4000 Torque Converter in my A4 so they don't dyno well at all.

My Corrected Numbers with the mods in my sig were:

380 RWHP and 400 RWTQ

Uncorrcted I ran 393 RWHP.......................

I am happy with the numbers, especially for an A4 with a Big Stall. My previous dyno Numbers with a smaller Cam 224, No Long Tube Headers, and No Heads, and Yank SS3600 Torque Converter, which I ran at 21st Century's dyno was

343 RWHP and 362 RWTQ and with those numbers I ran 11.82 at 115 MPH..

We are Patriot Brothers. You need to hit the track just to see what your car will do.

Congrats

The Bandit.......................... :auto:
