Quick look at the new F.A.S.T. throttlebody
LS1/LS6 Throttle Bodies Available As 78mm Or 90mm
FAST used the latest modeling software and test equipment available to produce designs that yield the maximum flow per square inch of cross-sectional area.
All throttle bodies are machined from billet 6061-T6 aluminum on precision CNC machining equipment for consistent quality and light weight.
CNC machined from 6061-T6 billet aluminum
Brass throttle blades to control vibration and reduce thermal expansion
Throttle shafts are machined to decrease their cross-sectional area, leading to increased flow.
30-54016 F.A.S.T. 78mm throttlebody $coming soon!
30-54008 F.A.S.T. 90mm throttlebody $coming soon!
We might have pricing later this week or sometime next week. The throttlebodies are expected to be released around the same time as their intake. That is just after the 1st of the year.

That is so pretty! If they perform as well as they look and are not $1000, they might have a winner!
Any idea what the flowrates are?
Also, notice that the first tow to respond are Pewter Vettes :D

Four!
Uh- that looks to be cable operated... I'm guessing that's not going to work on our cars...
I agree, make that the first 3

Is their new intake a manifold or just a cold air intake? The TB looks sweet!!!Can't wait to see the price$$$

Re: Quick look at the new F.A.S.T. throttlebody (Slammed Vette)
It is a complete intake manifold -
ENGINEERING
FAST™ assembled a team of some of the best manifold experts in the country, including Keith Wilson of NASCAR and NHRA fame, with the goal of making the finest new manifold ever built. We developed a unique three- piece design that allows you access to every inch of the manifold. The middle and upper shells can be changed to allow for additional engine modifications, like a FAST™ 90mm throttle body. Runners can be match ported. They even included witness grooves to indicate how much material you can remove. They also engineered in unparalleled performance. Now you don't have to sacrifice low end torque to gain horsepower!
To make the LSX™ a true bolt on product, it is made to fit under a stock hood and uses all factory hardware, fuel lines and linkages. However, the runners were redesigned to increase velocity and volume of airflow by moving air more efficiently. The LSX™'s longer, tapered runners allow it to gain top end horsepower without sacrificing low-end torque. With 25% more plenum volume, each runner is allowed to draw from less turbulent air. As the air enters the runners at the bell mouth, the angles are redesigned for better runner inlet transition. The throttle body is specially angled for improved plenum flow. For all of these reasons, you can expect up to 20 more bolt on horsepower and 15 more foot-pounds of torque**.
As if increasing horsepower & torque weren't enough, the team then designed in some special features to allow you to make further refinements to your engine. Special bosses are designed into the LSX to accommodate nitrous oxide nozzles and these bosses are placed at optimal angles. We?ve already mentioned you can port the LSX, but there's even a place for a burst panels to be installed to help prevent engine damage caused by nitrous backfires or boost pressure overload.
ADVANCED POLYMER
The team decided that even though using an advanced polymer material would be more challenging, the benefits far out weighed all other materials. They selected "Amodel?" because it is 20% stronger and 25% stiffer than the nylon used by the O.E.. It is also a remarkable 127% lighter than aluminum [11lbs. vs. 26 lbs.]. Even more important is the heat advantage. As an engine heats up to its operating temperature, a metal manifold absorbs that heat, which in turn causes it to preheat the air that enters the cylinders. This process, called heat sink, robs you of horsepower. Amodel does not absorb engine heat but instead acts as a heat shield, allowing much cooler denser air into the cylinders. The result is a lighter, stronger, stiffer manifold with built in horsepower gains from the material alone.
APPLICATIONS
The LSX fits all GM Gen III engines. It is available to fit stock throttle bodies or for FAST 78mm and 90mm throttle bodies
>
The stock TB is 75mm. The 90mm intake/TB will provide the most benefit to cars running stroker motors. I'm going to have to check with FAST about the drive-by-wire TBs. I believe these will be available but I just want to make sure :)

Scooter says the parts at PRI were the first off the production molds - they are in the process of validating (checking measurements on) the parts and will be doing testing in the next couple of weeks....can't wait for the results! :yesnod:

I agree with Phil,
The wire mount looks to be F-body in nature, I hope there is going to be a C5 model. Looks awesome.

I'm with Phil--this is a beautiful fbody TB (cable driven) what does the drive by wire setup look like, same as the stock units I guess--

Re: Quick look at the new F.A.S.T. throttlebody (Q8Y)
any test manifolds yet....hello?.....hello?......is there an echo in here?.....are the vendors getting any test units for the TB/manifold set-up? Is this another Holley?......they said 20 more hp too and most guys lost power. Also is there going to be an additional charge to port the FAST tb's ridge that is clearly seen just in front of the plate? Just bustin' on ya. Keep us posted.

Some manufacturers make 2 versions (cable driven and drive-by-wire). I'll let you know what FAST will have in the morning.

Re: Quick look at the new F.A.S.T. throttlebody (Slammed Vette)
Just received some more info from FAST. The Camaro/Fireibird throttlebodies will be released first and the Corvette TBs should follow a month after. I expect that to be towards the end of January.
