Default New product - Meziere "street" electric water pump - bolt on 10-12hp!

Meziere has just released their new bolt-on electric water pump for the LS1/LS6 motor. This is a direct replacement to the factory pump and will show you a 10-12hp gain. You will keep your factory thermostat housing but will be removing the thermo. A standard small block Chevy thermo will be used on the outlet side. We list this for $5.99 which is much cheaper than the regular one for the LS1. Colors available are black (most popular), neutral, red, blue, purple and polished. Our introductory price is $499.99. This should be going up to around $530. in the next few weeks.

A shipment will be arriving soon. As for the price, it's in the same range as everything else so I guess we are all "high" :) If you place your order online you can take advantage of our online ordering discount to save a little more $.

The person I spoke with at Meziere said the pumps may be going up in a few days. Our pricing will be good at least until 8/1.

Why dont you stop being a douche bag. I have seen you participate in 2 posts and you have nothing positive to say at either post. It appears to me that Tbyrne, Summit, Thunder, and Jegs all sell the same water pump for the same 499. It's easy to see that your young.....try acting alittle older with some respect and mannors.

Electrical water pumps run at a constant rpm whereas the rpm on belt driven waterpumps vary with engine rpm. The electrical pump is designed in such a way that it runs most efficient at this speed.
The energy to drive the electrical pump will have to come from the alternator now. This might be a problem for the battery/alternator in a daily driver.

tbyrne - Few questions:

1) Is the pump rebuildable? If so, when and who will be carrying the replacement parts?

2) Will the pump be hard-wired in to run only when the engine is running? And can a remote switch be easily added?

3) Will the pump still show a 10-12 HP on a car that has an Underdrive pulley installed?

I can see the increase in hp eliminating having the motor pull the waterpump, I also wonder if the underdrive pulley would create less gain with the elec pump, since I am currently replacing the alternator for over 400 bucks (parts only obviously) I would wonder how much energy it will take to drive the elec pump.

There are some rules that go along with posting on a vendors thread. It may be helpfull for you to read those rules before posting to this thread again. :yesnod:

I am also wondering if you have actually ran a 9 second 1/4 mile in your C5 like your avitar says or if that is there by accident?

Hijacking a vendor's thread with inappropriate comments violates Forum rules. :nono: Inappropriate content has been deleted. Re-opening the thread.

Would like to know how many amps this pump draws.. Might be an equal hit on HP thru the Altenator...???

Is there a 12HP gain just by removing the old water pump, or does it include the draw from the electric pump...

How about the routing of the belts?

Several questions Tom:

How does an Underdrive Pulley affect this item?

Those with custom tuned cars....will it need any tweaking?

Any special mods needed to the car or area of installation?

This is a highflow/high pressure pump that has an 11.5 amp draw. Cars with underdrive pulleys have been seeing about 10hp from this mod and cars with the stock pulleys have been picking up about 12hp. The stock belt will work fine and there won't be any tweeking needed for cars that have been custom tuned.

An option that we don't list yet but is available is chrome. That finish adds $100. to the price of the pump.

Does this Meziere pump have any guarantee concerning durability?

(I have heard of some other electric water pumps only lasting 5,000 - 10,000 miles on a street driven car -- don't know what brand they were)

Thanks!
Kent

Which is why I had asked if these pumps are REBUILDABLE. And I'm still waiting for an answer.

Tom is right!! We just received one of these pumps today and it is really a beautiful piece. All CNC machined and it looks to be extremely well made.

We should be able to bolt one on to a customers car this week and will report back any gains.
