depends on the $ you have, I bought a blackwing from a forum member for 150.00 and was thinking about some new borla's which would put me under 1000.00 for a little intake improvement and nice exhaust note.

IMHO, in order of $$:performance ratio -

1. Nitrous system
2. Cams only (if you do your own install) - not an easy bolt-on job
3. Cold Air Intake
4. LS1 Dyno Tuning
3. LT Headers
5. Rear Differenntial if you dont have a 3.42 or higher

NITROUS! :D :D :D
That's it!!!

You can bolt a 100 shot onto a showroom stock car and with proper install tuning, have yourself a reliable ***part-time*** rocket ride. Absolutely the smallest concessions in refinement when you keep everything else stock.

Navy Federal Credit Union is not a bank, but they do checking, savings, and all types of consumer loans. They are the largest credit union in the country.

The absolute best bang for the buck for items in the "easy to go back to stock" category is a cold air intake. I omitted nitrous because some consider that risky/ HP rental vs. buying, although one can't argue with the results.

My 1/4 mi time went from 13.3 @109 to the time in my sig w/ just the Haltech TRIC.

thanks for all the feedback. I am sure there is more to come. Air management may be the biggest bang for the buck, but reading what you post before you post it is priceless :yesnod:

Gears are the best....feels like 75hp with 4.10's and there is no refill for nitrous. From there keep adding HP till you cant get traction. Next is donaldson, headers, TIRES, cam, intake manifold, heads, and exhaust...in that order.
The exhaust is not very efficient for power gains vs. cost. FLP headers will give you high flow cats and an x-pipe. If you dont do your own work the order mat change a bit.

Gears, headers, intake, tires, and the air cleaner will be about equal to all but the most aggressive head and cam packages but will retain the stock reliability and smoothness of the car. Be aware that most people with gearing opinions never regeared a car.

:iagree: 10000% with spinmonster as he was the main catalyst motivating me to put 4.10s in my new 03 z06 and i have been all smiles ever since. I pretty much have the exact mods on my z06 that he suggests and there is nothing like have a very quick 100% reliable C5 not prone to the major breakdowns that we all read about on the forum when we start getting a little radical with our mods! :yesnod:
