So if you dont mind me asking,
How much does it cost to make a stock C5 run that kind of time???
Not that cost matters when your building a car like that but it would be nice to know for those of us thinking on selling our houses...lol.
For real though...how much???

Seeing how I have already spent about $20K in stereo equipment as well as a LPE supercharger with various other mods...I think my heart can take it. ;) ;)

probably more then 2 times your stereo investment ;)
Actually it is a good question that caused me to reflect a little. Here is an estimated breakdown. Obviously there is a lot of variance in costs based on what you decide to do and what you currently have. This assumes a bone stock C5 and you want to be NHRA compliant:
PS. Here is a break down of the cost estimate:
422 - 20,000 to 25,000
Cooling/Intake 1,000 to 1,500
NOS - 2,000 to 3,000 (purge, ring, bottles, heater, window switch, line)
Dual Disk Clutch - 1,500 to 2,500
Rear/Tranny upgrade 2,000 to 3,000
Wheels and Tires 2,000 to 2,500
Roll Cage/loops 4,000 to 5,000
Safety equip 1,000 to 2,000 Belts, Jacket, pants, helmet, shoes, net, Battery cut off, etc
Software 1,000 to 1,000 LS1 Edit/Auto Tap
------ -------
34,500 45,500
and I am sure I am leaving stuff out :)

Well I must say the video I saw was very impressive!! I love speed and even though I have only invested $12K in mods I must say after a few months of what I have and I might be going your route.
Way to go!

Bill - this is no small accomplishment on your part - and that of your "village"!
You have really broken some new territory here in the C5 AND you did it SMART! You paid attention not only to performance needs but you also had the good intelligence to pay attention to the most critical aspects related to safety by getting the appropriate license and safety equipment (e.g. cage, etc.). The way you approached this is a good model for those of us who may be lucky enough to afford to follow in your footsteps!
Again, this really is a GREAT accomplishment - big time congrats to you and everyone who contributed to making this happen! :grouphug: :hurray:  :flag
