I will have to look at what brand it is but I have an aluminum racing jack that is very low. It was also 650 bucks though..

On the side I am jacking, I just drive up on a 2x8 then put my floor jack under it. Why spend big bucks when you don't have to. Or I just drive up on my 4 post lift and lift it to the moon!!!! :D :D

when you are there see if they have any spare parts or do you go to China yourself. Invest in a good jack. I bought my Lincoln jack there. Heavy but will last a life time.

I have a Craftsman, 3 1/2 high. I drive up on 2X6. $560 for a jack????? I look at that as 1/4 of a lift. JMHO :)

Harbor Freight has an equivalent aluminum racing jack (4-5 pumps to the top) for $199. I use one and it appears, performs, and seems as durable as my buddies $600 one.

:iagree:

I have one from Harbor Freight, and am very pleased wih it. The price is now down to $169. It's called the U. S. General aluminum racing jack. The ones colored red, blue, or gold are now $189. 1-800-423-2567

I got the Harbor Freight jack about 3 months ago and it is great.
Search the internet for a coupon and you might get another $10 off.

:withstupid: Just because it's made in China doesn't mean it's all bad. I haven't had any issues with mine.

I also have a giant DK13HLQ. It's heavy and inconvenient to transport without a truck, but it reaches easily into places a regular jack won't go. Within two years of ownership, the piston on this jack started leaking, but it was quickly and freely replaced.

Does the handle break down into 2 pieces on the harbor freight jack? I have a small garage and space on the side of the car while using it is an issue.

Yes, the handel breaks down. It is near identical to the $600 ones!

Check out the Harbor Freight jack before purchasing. Rocker clearance on my lowered C5 Coupe is 3-1/2" and the Harbor jack would not clear. Had the store try in the parking lot before deciding. Did not buy. Griot's Garage catalog has one with 2-3/4 high pad, 1-3/4 without saddle for $389 + shipping.
