Default Changing spark plugs tonight and need some help asap please

I am in the middle of installing Denso Iridium spark plugs and MSD 8.5 super conductor wires and when installing the stock heat shields on the MSD wires, I noticed that the wire fit's loosely and not snug like the stock plug wires. Is this normal? The stock wires fit perfectly in the shields but fall right off when on the MSD wires. I just wanted to make sure before I install the everything so I make sure I do it right. My stock wires look fine so if I have to I will reuse them.

Thanks,
Adam

I did not use the heat shiels, I dont believe you have to :seeya You can position the wires so they are far enough away from the headers, I am not to sure about the stock manifolds though

FYI, I've read posts by other members who did not install the OEM heat shields and they were very sorry. Even if they are loose they will protect your wires from melting. IMO from what I've read here, put them on.

Thanks , I will have to check on them. I put them on and only had the car out twice. I have not been under hood again since, I hope they are okay

I believe I've read about some members using "heat sox" for the wires, new shields basically....cheap insurance in my opinion :)

I left the heat shields off, they would not fit, that was in 00! No problem.

I have the MSD 8.5 wires and even though the shields were looser, they still went on no problem.
