Check out my new LGM Coil Overs
I am sitting here waiting as LGM finishes the installation of my new shocks. Man they are sweet. Bilsteins with Hypercoil springs. Custom machined to fit a C5. I paid 2195.00 plus installation and tax for them and considering the quality is at least as good as the Penske's, IMHO, a very good price.
Cheers

Re: Check out my new LGM Coil Overs (rfgoss1)
I saw those yesterday, both on the table and on rfgoss1's Z06. They're almost too nice to put under the car :D . Should prove to be a very nice setup.

Re: Check out my new LGM Coil Overs (rfgoss1)
Complete G2 coil-over package for the front and rear.
The package comes with Bilstein Shocks with custom valving and spring rates.
The shocks have spherical bearings top and bottom, and come with all the hardware and springs.
You can specify what springs you want, or we will supply them with our recommended spring rates.
The kit provides total adjustment for ride height.
If you want more shock adjustment, we can provide the kit with any brand shock that you want for an extra charge.
Ride height, Corner weights, understeer, oversteer, and wedge will all be under your control with this package.
Complete Kit 1997-03 Corvette - $2,195.00

Re: Check out my new LGM Coil Overs (Godspeed)
Godspeed, does it need some reinforcement?
I was told by Heinz Roth who is the official DRM distributor for Europe, that the C5 frame is not designed for coilover suspension.
Thanks.

Re: Check out my new LGM Coil Overs (C5_SWISS)
This setup will work on a stock car without reinforcement. We have not seen any problems with the chassis using the coilovers. For those who want additional chassis strength we recommend going with our rollbar.

Was something wrong with your last set of coilovers?

Correction on the price. The price is 2195.00 plus tax and installation. Sorry Jeremy, I was flogging Lou because he charged me more than you posted. :) I checked with Lou and he reiterated the price. He would be willing to do a GP if 10 people want them, But I don't know at what price. Maybe you should get with him on that.

What are the difference with these and the DRM coils, other than the polished hats. They both use the same bilstein valved shocks as the base . :chevy

Re: Check out my new LGM Coil Overs (tom p)
Beautiful set, rfgoss1.
I am confused about the strength issue though. DRM states the upper shock mount is not designed to bear the full suspension load, yet Tom P's post suggests they do sell a kit? Which is it?
I guess the strength issue can be answered by answering this question: do the C5R and World Challenge cars run coilovers? If so, are the frames reinforced at the upper mounting point?
I recently got a close look at a Mosler MT900. Its front suspension, which uses the C5 frame and coilovers, IS reinforced in the upper mount area. I would add though, that the upper mount is relocated about 2 inches from the C5 point, so maybe that required strengthening. But there is definitely extra metal there.
BTW Godspeed, how does adding a rollbar reinforce the frame strength in the suspension area??? :skep:

I'll see if we can get Lou to step in hear to shed some more light on the topic for you.

For the records the price for the kit is 2195.00 I'll get with Lou on specifics of a GP if there is sufficient interest.

Before I went with these, I had the WCC/BPP coilovers and ran them for about eight months with no problems. I do have a six point welded cage though.
