Default Tire Sensors?

I no longer have tire sensors, is there a way to disable that in the computer so I stop getting the service error?

In short, no.
I heard somewhere that after a time it will go away. But, after 300 miles it's still with me.

Yes, you can get rid of the message with a Tech II tool. Someone posted this info. With the same tool you can disable F45.

Yes, with the Tech II. Come down a pay Tome in La Brea a visit, I am sure he will let you use it.

It would be better to put them back in and use the system than to try to mess with everything and shut it off... :skep: Those sensors come in handy and at high speed could be the only thing that will let you know (very early) that you have a serious problem on the way... JMO though... :yesnod:

Yes you can, buy why would you want to? Put the sensors back in. They might save your life.

I'm going to band the sensors but would rather disable the system if possible.

Did you find a way to disable the system? What size tires/wheels are you running? And how much did you drop your car? Thanks.

i dont think u should get rid of them either. there are many zo6 guys that would kill to have them! if u get a flat while ur driving it will be too late by the time u realize it and by then u would have damaged the tire from riding on it with no air.

On a related note, what's the expected life of these sensors? I've got a 99 and am looking at new rims, but don't know if its worth it for me to take out my old sensors for the new wheels if the sensors are about to die. Also, can the sensors be maintained, or can the battery be changed or will I just need to purchase brand new ones?

Thanks,
Dave

Not sure about the service life, I don't replace too many, but the battery is not serviced, the whole unit has to be replaced and reprogrammed.

I swapped wheels and tires. . .got rid of run craps.

You can have the DIC programmed to remove the error code; however, I must agree with the other posts. I had mine put back in.

It's a cool feature and it's better than checking tire pressures manually. :yesnod:
