Wow this is sad, losing friends or family is never easy. I'll definitely say a prayer this sunday for Rom and his family.

Re: Let us pray for our Romolo(My00C5) (shockwave)
I am new to the forum so I did not have the privilge of knowing Romolo but I can tell he must have been a great person to have so many people touched by the loss. As I read these posts I feel both sad for our loss and lucky to be part of a group of people who care so much for their fellow corvette enthusists, it is very heartwarming to read some of your thoughts and your condolences to his family. Maybe someone who will be going to the funeral can print out a copy of this thread and give it to his family so they will know that his brothers in cyberspace will miss him.

Re: Let us pray for our Romolo(My00C5) (savewave)
First of all, I'd like to thank Savewave for restoring my posting privledges for 48 hrs, so I can post some replies here.
Romolo, having been my chat buddy and good track friend, for almost 2 years now ... I cannot even think of where to begin, the type of stuff I went thru with him. The "Nicole" days, the whole CARTEK package thing, the 6 months I've spent with him, eating lunch at his job (where I also used to work, the same company he left last night, never to come back again to) , the endless photochops and criticism, we brought to the forums. I will miss ya Rom ... It's tough man, even I - 'whacky' BLISS, shed a tear or two, over the last 20 hrs or so .... I got word from Pig, about 6pm last night ... I thought it was all a big joke, until it was confirmed, just to prove us all wrong ... It's going to be tough, not having Rom around, to joke around with and 'goof' off with. He made my day many times, with his little poems he created, and the whole 'LARA' thing, towards the end ... Here's a pic of us, hanging out at the ATCO Racetrack, below. What else can I say ? It's all about human respect, it'll change my life forever. People die, all the time - but this is different ... he was someone I wasn't that close with, like C5_Pig - but I too have a special place in my heart for him. We'll miss ya Rommy !!!!!!! Adam Boca & El Diablo of the Rally freak.com forums, is starting a little fund, for his brick at the museum ... come on, contribute .. I am sure Rom would dig that! What's $25 ? A tank full, you'd waste going WOT anyway, right ? The details are still sketchy on exactly what happend, but I am sure the truth will come out. My understanding is, he was hit in the driver's door, something to that affect ... taking a co-worker home (who survived), here off Route 3 in Clifton, NJ. Rom wasn't the type to go racing on the street, at any change he would get - I hope the media doesn't make this out to be some crap, like the Long Island C4 crash last year. Again ... I can go on and on , but ... life is moving ahead quickly, we must keep the faith and stay strong. My respects go out to his family, his co-workers, everyone who knew him here at E-Town and ATCO, and everyone in between.
Regards,

In my Prayers too :blueangel:
You know I just read this and then went over to the other forum too to read more details... I have to say I am REALLY upset over this.. I saw his posts in the past but never knew him personally..
I was going to post a reply at 1st but instead I logged out and tried to get back to work..
But it kept nagging at me... I can't get it out of my head... :(
I just had to post.. This guy was so young and full of life. I began reading some of his old posts. He sounded like the happiest guy. He had no idea what was about to beset him. He died doing the thing he loved. :cry
How ironic... He runs at the track as safe as can be...and dies on frigging route 3 in NJ. Wearing a seatbelt no less...
Life is EXTREMELY fragile guys. It takes this sort of thing to make us all stop for a moment and reflect on it. I wish to god I could just IM him and tell him to be careful when he is on route 3. It only takes an instant! to remove your future.
I am really bummed out over that news. :(

What extremely sad news. I am so sorry to hear of Romolo's passing. All differences aside my heartfelt feelings go out to his family and friends.
He was a very friendly guy. He bought me lunch the first time I met hime up at Cartek and he did not know me at all. Very cordial. It was Romolo that lent me his helmet so i could run up at ATCO last March.
May he R.I.P.

My prayers are with his family and friends :blueangel:
Though I didn't know him, I went through this same thing last summer when my friend was hit and almost killed. It is a very difficult thing...
