Default Help Bilstein Shock Install

The instructions don't say or show anything about this little plastic ring on shaft. I just wanted to see if anyone knew for sure if it's suppose to stay on there. It seems like a cheesy little thing to have there.

I've searched the web and will continue to. I've seen videos where it looked like it was there and others where it looked like it wasn't.

I'll call Bilstein Monday if I'm still not sure by then...

TIA

AJ

I went new Bilstein’s last year and that plastic retainer is purely for shipping, to hold the retaining hardware so that they don’t get lost or confused for actual mounting hardware.

I just put DRM Bilsteins on a couple months ago. I also tossed the soft plastic washer, no issues/sounds. I could not find anything that mentioned keeping it.
