Yes it is the chimes in the car. The chime speaker is part of the instrument cluster. To fix it the cluster will need to be replaced or the speaker unplugged.

Thanks, but do I have to pull the dash or can I get at it from another angle.

What is the part number for the speaker? Thanks

The problem is not the speaker itself but the electronics that drive it. To fix you will need to replace the cluster. If you don't want to replace the cluster you could disconnect the speaker, you still have to remove the cluster from the car.

thanks Gary. Looks like the the dash has to be removed.

I have removed the dash several times to fix the AC issues with vents, so while I have the dash off are there any other things I might want to check?

The whole dash does not need to come off. Only the center console, radio surround and knee bolster. Steering column would have to be dropped (not removed). Then the gauge cluster can be removed.
Nothing additional I would suggest at this time.

Gary
