Default Diff side cover stud removal

Working on changing the left side diff side cover seal on my C5 Leaving diff in car and have unbolted the exhaust. Got new nuts to double lock on the stud between the trans and diff but not able to swing a wrench to remove the stud. Anyone else had this problem. Any suggestions? Don’t have a stud remover but will get one if needed. If I ruin the stud does anyone know a replacement part number or anywhere to get one. Thanks.

I would think it’s 16 but on the other side.

it’s actually screwed into the side cover so I can’t remove the side cover without removing it.

That sounds like #1 #16 is just a stud

I did the double nut on this stud to get it out, it was a very slow and tedious removal. I uses an open end wrench and flipped it each 1/4 turn. PIA
