What is this hose and where does it go?
I have an '04 with an A&A supercharger kit. I just got the car back from the body shop yesterday. My AC compressor had been damaged, and I know the shop replaced it. I figured that it was a good time to clean my air filter. It took some doing, but I managed to get the filter free. I noticed while I was in there that there was a hose that was not attached on one end. I traced the other end back to under the passenger side fuel rail cover. Does anyone know what this hose is? Is it supposed to not be connected on one end? I've looked, and I don't see any obvious place for the other end to attach. I have attached photos. Please help! Thanks!

Thanks for the help. I was thinking it was probably okay, but I wanted to make sure.

NO! I agree with ChillPepper50!!
That is the fresh air intake hose for the PCV system. It use to connect to the Throttle body where it got fresh air from the front of the Throttle Body (TB) bell mouth. That slotted area inside the opening of the TB is where the air to the hose comes from. If the PCV valve is functioning, it will have a vacuum on it and if its open to atmosphere it can suck in dirt, water trash etc... I installed a FAST 90 with a 90 mm TB and there was no place on it to connect that hose. I drilled into the OEM air bridge on a flat boss and installed a brass fitting that the hose can connect to.
The PCV system uses metered air for crank case air. Anything behind the MAF is metered air. If it is sucking air from outside it is unmetered and could be causing a lean condition. (UNLESS the tuner tuned it for unmetered air) If the tune accounted for that added air,, you should at lease put some sort of filter on it.

I guess I would ask this: Is your PCV system still hooked up? From your pic, it appears there IS a hose going to the TB, but it is slightly kinked, where it is flattened. Where does this slightly kinked hose go? Is this kinked hose plugged? Because as that hose is now, no connected at the other end, if the PCV is connected and functioning, then Chili and Bill are correct, you're drawing dirty, unfiltered air into the intake tract. However, because of the FI, I assumed you have no PCV. If that's the case, it is merely a breather tube, venting blowby to the atmosphere. BUT-If the PCV valve/system is still intact, you'll see the throttle body and/or the intake manifold will have a hose/hoses connecting to it/them, then this hose is an unfiltered air intake. The LS7 in my car has the later valley cover, with supposedly improved PCV properties, and has maybe a 3 inch long preformed hose coming from the valley cover leading to a port on the TB. I believe that the '04 models should also have this improved valley cover. This would also be unmetered air, but the factory/tuner has accounted for it in the tune, so it's all good to go. I hope this helps clarify things for you. You can quickly check your TB for any hoses. If there are none, check for any ports that have been plugged with neoprene plugs, like the ones the Auto Parts stores sell in their "Help" section. They usually come in an assortment of sizes and colors. Good luck.......

On my 1999 that is A&A Supercharged that hose goes between the oil fill cap (fitting in the cap) and the Air Filter (Hole put in the Air Filter for hose to go into). On your car it looks like the hose goes from the valve cover to the Air Filter. There should be a hole on your Air Filter for the hose to go into.
