Default Wave form

01Z06.....Could someone show me what a cmp sensor wave form looks like on a Tech 2? Mine looks like stair steps instead of a square wave.

A Tech 2 does NOT show a CMP waveform...you need a DSO (digital storage oscilloscope)...is this what you’re using ???....this is a cam-crank correlation waveform on my scope on my ‘01...bottom blue waveform is crank and top red is CMP.

This is my attempt to gragh the cmp and rpm with the TECH 2. Thanks for the info and the graph.

You will only see a true CMP waveform
using a DSO...you want to be looking at a voltage over time waveform...this is not the true waveform one would use to diagnose a faulty sensor.
