Tire fitment on 04 Z06?
I'm looking to get a set of drag tires for my near stock 04 Z06. I already have a set of front speedlines and am curious of fitment and an experiences in two constructions and sizes.
1. MT ET Street R Bias at 28-11.5 x 17
2. Some other DR at 315-35 x 17 (NT05R maybe)
With the manual trans I like the bias ply tires to help reduce shock loads. But they are only available in the 28-11.5 size. Will that tall of a tire fit? Does the additional 2" hurt ET's much on a mostly stock Z06?
Thanks in advance for all replies.

You don't want to run a 28" tall tire. There are 26" tall options in an Bias Ply ET street (26x11.5x16). But it is advised to run a bias ply front runner and not mix and match bias/radial tires. On a totally stock car I had to either slip the clutch on launch, or induce a bit of wheelspin on the launch with ET streets as otherwise the car would dead hook and pull the motor down too far and slow the car down .2

My stock Z06 will 60' a 1.59 - 1.67 on ET streets and a 1.72 on the stock radials when they are new. My modified Z06 will 60' a 1.4x on ET Streets.
All that being said, there are some good options in the 17" Radial space if you don't want to go to the expense of getting bias ply tires.

I'm planning to get some drag radials soon myself and have done a decent amount of searching here. The most common size I found guys using was 275/40-17. A 315 would be really wide for 9.5 inch wheel and most users said that the extra width wasn't useful, especially at stock power level.

Thanks, I'll look into those. I like the idea of less mass of a smaller wheel / tire combo.
