Squeeking noise from left rear
My 01 vert has about 18k miles now and for the past 1k miles I have noticed a squeeking sound coming from behind me, the rear left wheel well area. It sounds more like squeeking/rubbing rubber than it does scratching metal. I can't really figure out what it is but it is driving me crazy. The sound comes only when I go over a bump or go up a slanted angle, so I'm thinking it may have to something to a worn shock or maybe a bushing? Has anyone had this problem before and what was the fix? Gets pretty annoying and frustrating hearing a "squeek-eeek-eek" sound everytime, if not altogehter embarassing. Thanks

No over size tires? Check to see how close the tires are to the two cables going to the wheel. The chassis/tires may shift just enough for the tires to rub those two cables. If they are, get a tie wrap an pull the back a little.

Re: Squeeking noise from left rear (gaww)
Mine squeaks (creaks) in front when going over bumps when it's cool outside (like below 50 degrees). BTW, my '95 Camaro creaks too when going over bumps, again only when it's cold outside. I'm thinking this is coming from the sway bar bushings but I haven't had the gumption to loosen them and spray some lube in there. Just spraying without loosening didn't seem to do anything.

I also am getting a squeeking noise from my rear ever since I put my clear roof back on. It doesn't happen without the roof on or with my solid roof. The funny thing is it's not comming from the roof itself or where it meets the halo.

Re: Squeeking noise from left rear (Face)
Mine has also started squeeking now that is is getting colder. I took off the rear sway bar and lubed the bushings but it still squeeks when I go over some uneven roads. I cleaned my wheel wells and shocks, etc. not long ago and wondering if I need to go back and put some silicon spray on the rubber bushings on the a-arms. Any other recommendations??
thanks

My noise turned out to be my Corsa indy's rubbing on the rear panel. I repositioned the exhaust and sprayed some silicone lubricant around the clamps and the problem is gone. Good luck!

Squeaks on bumps... Lube bushings.. Never seez works best. Better than silicone or grease or silicone grease. I used them all. Seems that graphite and never seez lasts the longest.

This might sound stupid but, I had a squeek in my 99 ragtop in the left rear
also. After alot of searching and testing I found it to be the left seatbelt retractor down by the bottom of the seat.
It's just an idea but it might help :D

Mine is sqeaking also but I think it is the exhaust system. The mounts at the back are rubber and when it si cold the squeak. No big deal I just oil them with a little 3-in-one and viola! GONE.

I definitely need to try this over the weekend. Come to think of it, mine used to squeak in back as well as the front, but in the process of going through 3 exhausts, I seem to have inadvertently cured it (at least for now).

Mine turned out to be my rear swaybar bushings. I use white lithium grease when I installed my swaybars, now it's time to hit the store and pick up something better. I used "Pre Lube" from suspension techniques on the polyurathane bushings on my old car, and they never made a peep after a few years. I guess I need to pick that stuff up again.

OK, this probably won't apply for all here, but... I had a 'squeek' in my 2002 Coupe and while washing it one day saw a small round silver looking spot on the bottom of the rear hatch. I figured out that a screw by the weather stripping, had backed out a little and was rubbing the hatch and making the 'squeek' noise. I just tightened the screw (torx head) and it was fixed.

At last I got under the front and greased my front bushings. Didn't get a chance to go to the store, so I just used grease, but oh what a difference! Mega-creak is totally gone now.
