Have a 97 c5 and have a question on the DIC control button cluster. At the very top of it there is a light, or what looks like a light, a little round circle. If it is a light does it come on and stay on all the time or does it only come on when the buttons are pushed ,,,,,,,,,,, or , does it represent something else. To the best of my knowledge it has never worked. Thanks for any and all help

It's the gauge ambient light sensor. I use canned compressed air to clean it out periodically as trying to wipe it can leave residue.
There's a similar "eye" sensor on the side of the defrost vent by the windshield that I similarly clean with canned air.

Thanks guys for letting me know what that round dot is at the top of the DIC control switch panel. I am having a real problem trying to find out how to get the DIC control button module out of dash. I am going to do it myself but I am trying to find a video on where to start with out taking a bunch of junk off first needlessly. Does any one know of a video that shows from the git go on how to remove. Mine does not work and am trying to find out if something is wrong in back on mine or if I have to replace it. Thanks in advance

Hello . I am not aware of any videos but last year I installed red LED´s in my DIC buttons(backlight) . You must remove the cluster from the car and then remove the
buttons from the cluster . It is quit easy to remove the cluster if you do as shown with images in this tread (Norwegian Corvette forum) .Hope this will help you , the images shows what you need to remove
Remove those screws , lower the steering column , disconnect first HUD connector , then the big cluster connector and then the cluster is out
