C5 Z06 sway bar upgrade
*** As noted further down in the thread, I decided to go with C6 Z06 sways. The problem I am having now is the rear the bushings are 26mm and the sway is 28mm. That seems extremely tight to me so I'm looking for feedback on if this is expected or if the vendor shipped the wrong bushings. ***
This appears to be a common question, but at the same time people want to know specifics about the car/driver before making a suggestion so here we go.
Car is an 02 Z06 daily driver, but driven pretty hard with lots of low-speed hard corners (roundabouts and 25mph mountain roads) during the commute. DRM valved Bilstein shocks, 295/35-18 / 275/40-17 Continental Extreme Contact DW tires (it rains 9 months a year here or I'd be running r-comp tires). Running alignment with -1.7 camber up front and -1.2 in the rear, with effectively neutral toe.
Generally trying to reduce body roll, reducing push through the corners and planting earlier on corner exit would also be neat.
C6 Z06 bars are an option, but they're barely any improvement on the front and don't offer any adjustment on the rear.
So I'm planning on going with the Hotchkis Sport set with metal end links, sound like a reasonable route?

Anything bigger over stock will be an improvement....Most run the C6 z06 stuff or the Z51 ones. Lots of threads exist on this. Adjustable end links really aren't that critical either seeing you don't track the car.

I have C6z/GS bars on my C5 with DRM Bilstein coilovers
It's awesome.
It was cheap, OEM, and a huge upgrade. Especially to the updated metal endlinks

I've already bought the F55 upgrade kit and know I discovering I should upgrade my sway bars. Metal ends is recommended from what I'm seeing. I just need a link so I can order them.

Agreed the T1 sways are overkill for what I'm needing. Even the Hotchkis sport might be overkill but I'm having a hard time justifying the money for the C6 Z06 sways when I can get the Hotchkis sport for just a little more.

I agree that starting with a C5Z you need to take a bigger step past going to the C6Z bars to make it worthwhile.
I'm not sure the Hotchkis bars are a big enough change either though.

I'm wary of making the car too stiff so just ordered up C6 Z06 sways, if they're not a noticeable improvement I'll sell them off and continue from there.

For those that went to C6 Z06 sways, which part numbers did you order?
Here is what I ordered
- End links - 20822934
- Front sway bar - 25919502
- Front sway bar bushings - 10387838
- Rear sway bar - 20777536
- Rear sway bar bushings - 15262795
All of the end links and the front setup are fine.
The problem is on the rear. The inside diameter of the bushings is 26mm, but the sway bar is 28mm... From what we can tell once the retainer and bushing were tightened down all the way they'd basically lock the sway bar in place and not give it any room to move at all.
Since the rear bushings didn't come labeled with a part number I assumed gmpartsdirect just shipped the wrong ones, but they pulled up the spec and it shows they are 26mm by design for the bushing.
Is it expected to be extremely tight, or is something wrong with what I ordered?

Too late, already have the Z06 bars on hand.
I just need to figure out if the tightness in bushings on the rear end is expected.
