Default High temperature

Hi guys
I have a 04 c5 vette. I replaced the heads with z06 heads torquerer cam with valve and springs. It has a 3000 stall speed converter and a 3.42 rear diff. It was programmed. Before that I had a problem with high temperature around 230 to 250. I had the radiator cleaned and the fans turn on at 160 but still I get these readings. I replaced the thermostat for a SLP 160. Its there is a problem or something else I need to check. The dic coolant temp. Matches the readings on the gauge in the cluster. Please someone help.

Is the air dam under the front of the car intact? The car needs this to help direct air to the radiator.

Also, IF you have a 160* Tstat.. Your fans should be programmed to come
on after that.. EX: 175 low speed, 185 hi speed..
A 160 Stat will NOT mean your temp will run that low. It will more than
likely run around 175* with a perfectly functioning cooling system..

Does it run hotter sitting still or on the highway?
