Out of curiosity, what is the point of covering the license plate?? I see that often and have never for the life of me figured out why people do that.

Honestly i really dont know 😂 Something my father told me to do a long time ago and ive done it since. Probably doesnt matter much considering my full name is on here and id assume you probably couldnt even get that from a tag number.

It's a good idea to get a factory service manual if you don't already have one.
It has a ton of detailed information in it. They are always available used.

I'm getting ready to do this possibly, as I am working on an 03 vert that needs an oil pan gasket and trans repair. I was curious about the transverse spring compressor. Do you really need it? It does'nt look like it was used in the photos. Or is it needed when taking the engine off the crossmember?

I havent dropped the motor yet but dont think you will need it for the front or the rear. And from looking at it i dont think it would be necessary for removing the motor from the k either. Droping the rear and tt out was pretty straight forward just take your time! GLThis is the write up i used to remove tt and trans, very helpful: http://redshift.homestead.com/files/...ch_install.pdf

If I had to pull the trans and engine I would pull the trans as listed in the pdf. I prefer to separate the trans from the crossmember supporting the trans with a transmission jack.

Once the trans and torque tube are out the engine will come out the top. You can pull the engine out the top 1st but you have have to be a bit more careful. I have done both, never used a transverse spring compressor.

Lift for sure! I used wood pallets with casters mounted to them. Worked out well!

Update- Got the motor down, just have to lift the body up now and pull it out 🤙🏽

Been sick as hell but got around to pulling it the rest of the way out today. Just pulled it out from the drvers side wheel well.
