Default Corsa extreme tooo loud, swich to corsa sport?

I got the extreme on my z06. I think the extreme sounds perfect on a otherwise stock c5. Now that I have ARH headers and no cats its super loud. I dont mind it as it barely has any drone and sounds like a race car(which is cool) and sounds great, but truth be told its loud as ****. I also noticed that with the addition of the headers, I lost a lot of the signature Corsa sound which sucks.

So my questions is, has anyone gone from a Extreme to a Sport with long tunes and no cats and been happy? I dont really care if its loud over 3k, ostly just want to tone down idle and low cruising speed.

Im serious, you cant have a conversation if your 10 feet behind this thing lol.

I have ARHeaders, 3 inch exhaust to TI Z06 mufflers and i think it sounds great. Just loud enough, quiet till you stand on it. no drone.

I haven't heard the Corsa Extreme exhaust in person, only WEB videos, so I really can't compare the two. I do have LG Super Pro Headers with cats and Corsa Sport axle back exhaust system. It's pretty loud just idling and even louder when accelerating hard. It's quiet when cruising at any speed and there is no resonance. Judging from what I've seen and read. the Corsa Extreme system makes considerably more noise than the Sport system. Doesn't really answer the question but I hope it helps a bit.

I have Corsa Indy / Sport mufflers on a catless & cam'd car with ARH and x-pipe. Its silent when cruising and barks pretty loud at WOT and high rpm's.

Where are you located?

I just bought a Corsa Sport to put on my Z06 which also has ARH catless headers. Haven't had a chance to install it yet but I'll be going from stock Ti. The guy I bought it from (also a member here) said he thought it was too loud for him and went back to stock Ti.

Not sure when I'm going to get the Corsa put on but if you haven't picked yours up at that point I can shoot a video for you.

Having heard extremes with stock manifolds and Ti's with LT headers right next to each other, the tones are surprisingly similar. The Ti's are just a lot quieter.

I have Hinson Headers with catless x-pipe and Corsa Extreme mufflers and they are loud especially when you are at WOT!

At times, its hard to hear the radio too but I like it loud by my neighbors not so much.

IMO the Sports are a better sounding muffler. Still throaty, more of an exotic pitch. Wish like hell they had a 4" tip for the sports and I'd yank my Ti's off.

Extremes, while they don't drone and still sound better than most, are too MF'ing loud w/ LT's and an X.

I had sports on my c6z with LT's/X...best sounding car I ever had. Friend of mine has the same set up on his ZR1 but with extremes, sounds good, buts its ear piercing loud at WOT. On par with cutouts. Not total apples/apples but close enough.

All subjective but you asked

Default Exhaust

Just installed ARH headers on my 2000 coupe. They mate to my previously installed Corsa Extreme exhaust. This is breathing for an LS1 Supercharged motor. I do believe it is considerably louder than b4. My girlfriend hates the new sound but most think it sounds good. If you want your LS1 to roar like a race car this is definitely the setup you need. As long as I keep my foot out of it the exhaust note is "fairly" quiet. I personally love it!

That was my thought too.

Well, I got the sport installed and I have to say it isn't much quieter. Wide open it's super loud, and at idle. It is more quiet at cruising speeds. The tone sounds better too. I'm going to drive it more tomorrow and see what it think. It fits like crap so I might return it to summit since the return policy is so good. The drivers side is hitting the sway bar causing a nasty vibration. Just want to make sure I want to keep it before I mod it to fit and can't return it.

All in all the sport isn't much quieter on a LT, and no cats set up. I do believe it sounds better than the extreme. Extreme sounds like a buzz saw with no cats

Loud is probably why many people with engine mods with long tubes go back to TI’s. I had the extremes and loved them until the new motor, sc and long tubes..... way too loud! I hated to loose the 4” tips but the Ti’s solved the problem.

Lots of high hp cars still use the factory Ti’s. Ist it the look you don’t like?

I will never take off my xtremes and go back to the stock exhaust unless I was demodding to sell and that probably wouldn't happen either
