Default Another cam question

I currently have a vrx4 cam and some 243 heads. It makes great power and it's fun to drive. I will be installing trickflow heads next week and I was thinking about a cam change. I believe the current cam is 228/230 588 592. What kind of additional power could I gain with a cam that's in the 240 range? Worth it while it's apart or no?

"240's" is pretty vague, but i get your point.

In general you'd give up some down low to pick up some up top, unless you optimize the combo.

If you're smart with compression(head cc, thinner head gaskets), induction(ported FAST/90mm TB, TFS heads), exhaust(LT's, 3" X) and then cam it around your goals and parts, you can eat the cake too IMO.

I know it's vague, I'm sorry. I guess I'm comparing TF 220 and VRX4 vs TF 220 and Vindicator. I kept the chambers at 64cc and as far as intake goes, I have a Dorman LS2 that I'm going to try out.

I would stick with the VRX4, a cam with a 240 duration will move power up in the band. In my opinion upper 220s is the sweet spot for stock gear. If you have a gear in the car I might go up to the low 230s. What is the full mod list?

VRX4 and TFS 215s can be a very fun street combo. Don't get hung up on peak #s looks at the power across the board.
