Default How to ensure steering wheel doesn't move with steering shaft removed?

I may be overthinking this, but what methods have you guys used to make sure the steering wheel doesn't turn at all while the steering shaft is out? I'm removing the steering shaft to install headers and a bit nervous about making sure the steering wheel doesn't move. On my fbody, I didn't do anything because the shaft could only go back in a certain way and I only removed the end that connected to the rack, but I wanna take every precaution possible with the z lol.

(column lock is bypassed)

Column lock has been bypassed. I should have mentioned that.

I just run the seat belt through the steering wheel and buckle it up

I don't even worry about it anymore, just be aware of it and there isn't much to worry about... the shaft will only go on one way so even if the wheel turns a bit you will have to get it back in the correct position before the shaft will go back on... just don't turn the wheel all the way to either side like you are making a u-turn, since there is nothing to stop the wheel it will keep turning and damage the wiring in the column

I installed the LCM5 and disabled the column lock. I just enabled it again so I could lock the steering wheel and replace my SWPS.

I had to "tie down" the steering wheel, when I pulled the rack, to swap balancers. I used some heavy string...I tied one end to the seat track next to the console, ran it up and around the bottom of the steering wheel, a couple of times, then tied it off on the outboard side of the seat track.
