Default Your Opinion On PIAA Lights & Bulbs, Please!

I've read some posts regarding how great PIAA driving lights are. I'm interested to know if the PIAA lights are drop in replacements for the fog lights on my Y2K coupe? Are there any heat or current draw issues?

Has anybody changed over to the Platinum Super White headlight bulbs? What do you think of them?

Thanks,

Mike

I ran the Plantniums in my Regal GS for a year, but found the Galaxy Whites by Katz to have a nicer color (hint of purple ) and brighter. I have them in Corvette currently also, but not much difference as the headlamps are not clear. Small hands are needed and they are direct replacements.

I think the stock fogs suck !!! I would replace the entire units with PIAA or KATZ, but looks to complicated. Im getting Z06 screens to hide them.

For a discount on Katz or PIAA try http://www.autobulbdepot.com

The Piaa's are the poopie! I could run them alone without the head lamps! :yesnod: As far as the install.............they will bolt up to the factory fog lamp backets. I made some minor mods to the brackets so that I could retain the ability to be able to adjust them with the factory screws. By far the best $170.00 I ever spent on this car. :D

Mag Red... do you have a link to the PIAAs that you used to replace the stock fog lamps? I'd like to check them out.

Thanks!

I also run the Katz Galaxy white bulbs, as their Kelvin rating is closer to true HID than the PIAA's are. I run PIAA bulbs in my GM euro spec fog lamps, and people swear they are HID. See my website in my sig for pics.

I changed out the stock fog lights to PIAA's last year. Got them from LAPD. What a difference. I can drive at night without the headlights on and see just fine (don't know if that's legal). I drive through central California in the winter and they work great in the fog. Standing in the street I can see my car coming for blocks away. They did mount in the stock brackets but have no adjustment screw. I just wired mine into a fixed location and they work fine. Simple wiring connects directly to the battery. I've seen no battery drain. I have the Z06 screens which hide mounting set up. I feel they are well worth the $170.

I have both, and it's the first thing I do to my cars (after window tint). They are awesome, and you won't want to use stock again after having them.
